Re: Cancer scare/symtoms.

My 22 year old son has had UC for 5 years now. UC and Chron's can act very strangely and symptoms can come and go with long periods of remission, etc. The multiple medications used to control symptoms often stop working just like chemo with us cancer patients. I wouldn't worry. This is something tha...

Re: ctDNA test

I had the test done last month. It was positive but my recurrence was found right after the blood draw so that was expected. My oncologist is doing the test for me every few months as treatment has been suspended until it shows up again.

Re: No longer NED- back in right ovary

Thank for the responses. I have to stop looking at studies with small cohorts, etc. I just torture myself. I meet with my oncologist this afternoon to see what he has for a plan. I pushed for an ultrasound because my May CT scan said it was a growing cysts from 6 months ago.. but was never noted on ...

No longer NED- back in right ovary

I've searched the archives for this topic but just wanted to fresh input if available. My history is below and just found out that I have a second recurrence, this time a 3 cm tumor on my right ovary. Not surprising since my primary was on my appendix but still devastating. Anyone have this same pre...

Re: TIL

Thank you Rob. I get myself worked up quite easily at times and then spiral into pouring through studies that just keep telling me the same thing=poor prognosis. It’s just so disheartening and I then bring myself back reading success stories but never see them with KRASG12D people which upsets me ev...

[quote][/Sleen is now four years cancer free from the infamous "undruggable" mutation. No human had ever been cured of KRas G12D driven metastatic cancer before her, and a doctor told her she had a 2% chance of even getting into the trial. That "expert" was. So, not to interrupt ...

Re: Biopsy Question

I would want the biopsy and know for certain that it’s not cancer. That way if it is, you can catch it early. A lot can happen in 6 months.

Re: Switching to Xeloda, what to expect?

Hi Vana, our stories seem very similar! I was put on Xeloda in May 2018 to present. I had lost all my hair from folfiri and it grew back since May. It grew in slower than normal but it’s now past my shoulders. Hand foot syndrome was brutal for me but lower dose has been much more manageable. Best of...

Re: Para-aortic node recurrence

Tricky situation you are in. I know that some on here (warrior spouse being one of them) had good results on xeloda keeping those PALN's shrunk and then after about 3 years or so they started to grow again and now she's back on chemo. If your husband's PALN's have shrunk then that's great news and I...

Re: Para-aortic node recurrence

Hi Siti, My advice (as always not a dr) is that if they can be surgically removed, then go for the surgery. You are correct that in most studies (so few of them out there) that the only real long term success has been with PALND. Often times surgery is too risky but if it can be successfully done th...

Re: My recent significant CEA jump.

Have they ever mentioned doing a laparoscopic look around? I say this because appendix cancer is often undetectable on PET, MRI and CT scans as it often causes tiny specks of cancer covering organs. Too small to be seen on scans yet CEA can be elevated. Not saying it to be alarmed but just hoping th...

Kim, I'm so sorry to hear of your husband, Joe and his passing. I just wanted to reach out and say that we will all be thinking of you and hoping you can find some peace in the days to come. I wanted to reach out to say that I was diagnosed on the exact same date as your husband and I'm also KRAS an...

Re: Insurance denied husband’s genomic testing

Great news! I started to read your chain and was getting upset because as you know, I am being treated at Yale but also work there so I know they would never not do the testing and I was about to get angry for you :D. Hope the results help!
