What do you drink during cold sensitivity?

what is your favorite room temperature drink? I try to do water when I can, but for some reason it seems to taste funny in chemo weeks. Gatorade lemon lime has been my go to drink so far, just curious what everyone else does and maybe looking for some alternatives.

Re: what should I expect on the first day of chemo?

Apparently cardiologists are in high demand. I can't get in to one for another 2 weeks.

Re: what should I expect on the first day of chemo?

Well round 3 really wiped me out. Feeling more tired than the previous 2 rounds, but at least all other side effects are minimal. On the bright side, I'm a quarter of the way done! I still can't believe how fast things move. 3 months ago I was a normal 36 yr old. Now I've had 3 ft of colon removed a...

Re: Is colon cancer preventable if caught early?

If you feel something is wrong, get it checked out. I cannot emphasize that enough. I went to the doc in my early 30's with symptoms that I thought were ibs. The doctor agreed that it was ibs too and that was that. 4 years later I go back with same symptoms and a new pain in my side. Saw a different...

Re: Another new Forum Member.

You are an ironman my friend. I try to walk at least a mile a day, but with the chest pain I have, it's impossible to do on treatment week. I feel weak on treatment week, can't imagine lifting weights now lol. I've also cut back to only 1 or 2 dex pills during treatment week so that might explain lo...

Re: NEWS from ongoing ASCO 2017: shorter chemo for stage III OK

This is very interesting. It sure would be awesome to say I'm half way done instead of a quarter done. Is a lifetime of neuropathy worth a 1% difference? Especially for those of us on the younger side? Tough call. I get my genetic test back in 4 weeks. Maybe that would be a good time to discuss this...

Re: what should I expect on the first day of chemo?

Yes, I believe that is what they suspect. It only happens on the day before, of, and after disconnect. During that time my heart rate slows to the 45-55 bpm range and blood pressure drops to 90/50 along with the chest pains. I'm normally around 80 bpm and 120/80 blood pressure. I'm not sure what my ...

Re: 34 year old with recent diagnosis. So many questions

I was 36 when I was diagnosed in march. I've had 2 rounds of chemo so far with the third one Monday. Go into chemo with a positive attitude. I found that I felt worse when I was worrying about side effects. With that said, make sure you keep track of all your side effects and let the doc know. They ...

Re: what should I expect on the first day of chemo?

Went in to give blood for the genetics test today and do some other lab work. They found that my potassium levels were low. I have read on some other threads that others had chest pain with low potassium so hopefully the supplements they are prescribing will help. Looking forward to feeling better o...

Re: what should I expect on the first day of chemo?

Day two of second treatment was pretty uneventful. I felt good most of the day. Towards the evening, I started to get some slight chest pains again, although it doesn't seem as painful as it did after the first treatment. Maybe it was heartburn after all and the Prilosec is working. I'm still going ...

Re: Another new Forum Member.

That's awesome that you don't have the cold sensitivity. I'm a cold drink guy, can't stand any warm drink, so drinking room temp water has been tough lol
