Re: Radiologist and oncologist visits

Wow! Great posts. I'll bring up the questions of treating some symptoms before they are problems. I was in a lot of pain during the visit and haven't been sleeping...so I'm surprised I remembered as much as I did. I do recall he said I could start certain treatments now to relieve whatever I had goi...

Re: Radiologist and oncologist visits

Well, I thought about not posting at all about this, but then what is the point of being here I thought. So I posted what I felt like posting about it and now I see the benefit. Actually, I see I wrote longer than I thought too. I guess I've found a workable laptop-from-bed use with my laptop laidba...

Radiologist and oncologist visits

Met my radiologist tocay. Wonderful guy, very thougough in his explanations. I also like his positive but not vacuous attitude. He asked if the overall process had been explained. I told him what we already knew included that I probably...no, seems definitely...will have a permanent bag. He explaine...

Re: The Weird Things People say.....

Aha! Great thread. I've got some, and I've only been diagnosed about 11 days ago! I'll have to first explain that my wife has been balding for years...her hair is very thin...makes no diff to me as she's talked to her doctors and it's an understood condition. Anyway, she took my news hard. That's wh...

Re: If you want prayer stop in here!

What a love-ly thread. î'm going to my church's website next to find their prayer line. I was diagnosed about 11 ago. I've spnt most of last week in the presence of God, in the form of wonderful conversations with friends and family. I know He won't give me more than I can take, and I pray only to m...

Re: I'm new here...

Well, travel didn't do me in, so I was happy about that! It is rectal cancer very low, not well defined. Digital exam was difficult and whatever the other probe was was very difficult, so there is no way to do the ultrasound at this time. I'm looking at a permanent bag when the time comes as there i...

Re: Awake during colonoscopy?

I'm new here...

It's weird. I had my 39th birthday on a Sunday...still ill on the couch a day before an appointment with my brand new gastroenterologist. That Wednesday tney knocked me out for a colonoscopy, and on Friday, with wife in tow and kid ad camp, I learned that I had colorectal cancer. Boom. I don't drink...
