Re: How young is too young for COLONOSCOPY

[quote="mymom"]I am like you with my kids health. I don’t think it’s too young for a colonoscopy. That said- and you may think I’m crazy- have her eat those Cheetos again. Then check her poop. She may react differently than you. If it is red again, I wouldn’t worry. If it’s not, do the col...

Re: How young is too young for COLONOSCOPY

Not long after my original surgery I was at a middle school ball game and was talking with the lady coach. She told me one of her 7th graders had Stage IV colon cancer and they'd removed her whole colon but the parents were demanding it not be discussed, especially with the child because they didn'...

Re: Adenocarcinoma PT3,PN2

Hello and Welcome to the board. Sorry about your wife's diagnosis. I imagine the shock and devastation you are in right now as I was in the same spot not too long ago. I am not a doctor, therefore I can't give you any medical advice. I can only tell from our own experience. It sounds that your wife'...

Re: Rectal Pain concern / previous rectal cancer

I heard sometimes neoadjuvent radiation can cause pain and discomfort in that area even after the removal.

Re: Worried -genetic results are in. KRAS MSS

There is evidence accumulating I believe that the KRAS G13D mutant is actually sensitive to treatment with EGFr Inhibitors like Erbitux. See the following two links, they are both pretty new: https://www.omicsonline.org/open-access/the-effect-of-egfr-inhibitor-treatment-in-kras-g13d-mutatedmetastat...

Re: Worried -genetic results are in. KRAS MSS

I didn't find out my genetic mutation until I switched to MSK. Why my previous oncologist never told me I was KRAS I'll never know. I just looked up my surgical pathology report again and I'm KRAS G12A. Yes, I did end up with a pesky liver met that escaped the initial treatment. But I've had it rem...

Re: Worried -genetic results are in. KRAS MSS

Take a deep breath. I would look very hard now at CEA, LDH and CA199 (you probably need to order these your self for speed and convenience, at least a first time). It may be that a choice could be made between normal Xeloda treatment, Xeloda+mild, generic adjuncts, and Folfox. The results from some...

Re: Worried -genetic results are in. KRAS MSS

My husband is KRAS, MSS with condone 12/13 mutation. He is still alive and kicking but going through a rough spot right now. He has been on almost every chemo with the greatest success on Folfiri+Avastin. He stayed on maintenance 5fu and Avastin for over 2 years before a pesky spot showed up in his...

Re: Severe pain while walking after LAR

BTW my husband was able to walk on day 2, although he was still in a lot of pain and discomfort. The doctors told him the longer he postpones the walking the longer he is going to stay in the hospital. Thats all it took :). next thing i knew he was up and walking with nurses.

Re: Severe pain while walking after LAR

Hello and welcome, I am sorry you are in so much pain. My husband had his LAR back in August of this year. He was in really bad pain for 3 days. While he was in the hospital, they had him connected intravenouslyto a pain medication pump where we could push the button anytime he needed it for his pai...

Try not to worry. Colonoscopy will rule out what's going on. Hopefully nothing is wrong. Can they at least order CT scan for now?
