Re: Keytruda....Working for MSS....Mutation Burden is the Key

You can look into the TAPUR trial for Keytruda. It is sponsored by ASCO and open almost everywhere with new cohorts. Google TAPUR and ASCO. However, be careful with immunotherapies; they can exclude you from a lot of trials if you fail but make you eligible for a few others. However, the scale is h...

Re: Why you really need to know your tumor genetics

A few more thoughts: With a 4.7cm tumor they are likely afraid that there may be some occult metastases that should be controlled with chemo before surgery. Using FOLFOX perioperatively (3 months or less before and again after surgery) is likely a good idea. However, I would question if you should u...

Re: Why you really need to know your tumor genetics

My onc has explained that EGFR inhibitors do not work on non-wild-type, but that they tend to perform better than Avastin for wild type. Amy sorry to butt in here. The UM medical system is quite disfunctional when it comes to administration (like most hospitals). It can take forever to get things scheduled. One ...

Re: Keytruda....Working for MSS....Mutation Burden is the Key

Boswind and all, Have you figured out if there is any correlation between the number of somatic variants/mutations listed and TMB? I noticed that Cynthia listed the 12 variants and her TMB is 12. I know gremline variants (those from your parents) don’t count toward TMB since the immune system likely...

Re: Keytruda....Working for MSS....Mutation Burden is the Key

Thank you all for sharing your experience with Pembrolizumab and MSS colon cancer. There is another hypothetical bio marker for checkpoint inhibitor response even for people with a low TMB. The idea for this biomarker came from the fact that renal cancer has a high response to checkpoint inhibitors ...
