Re: BREAKING: Nivolumab (Opdivo) APPROVED for MSI-High CRC

the difference between this drug and keytruda? Looks like both are pd-1 inhibitors. I wonder if you stop responding to one, another might work depending on what exactly differentiates this drug. Keytruda (pembrolizumab) and Opdivo (nivolumab) are both anti PD-1. They are too similar. Even drugs tha...

Hi Maia, do you know/understand the difference between this drug and keytruda? Looks like both are pd-1 inhibitors. I wonder if you stop responding to one, another might work depending on what exactly differentiates this drug.

Re: 30-40 Grams of Fiber Per Day !!!

I've used the Fiber One cereal in the past, along with things like Quest Bars and Trader Joe's High Fiber Cereal but I'm trying a more Whole Foods approach these days and will do that with fiber when my digestive system stabilizes. I like the approach of Greens, Grains, Nuts and Beans. There are va...

Re: Fatigue Advice

Thank you for all the suggestions. We met with our covering oncologist today since our old oncologist was just promoted to a new position at a different hospital and the new oncologist has not begun yet. We had to fight to get an appointment today because my husband wants to begin his leave of abse...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

I’m sorry you’re worried. I know how stressful this can be. So as long as your tumor isn’t fully obstructing, you shouldn’t need to go to the ER. When they did the colonoscopy, did they tell you if it was partially or fully obstructive? I have a feeling they would have done something already surgica...

Re: Chemo brain

I experienced this so I can empathize. Unfortunately the only solution I found that worked for me was time. After enough time from my last chemo elapsed (it took many, many weeks), my brain started feeling more normal again. So my advice is to let your coworkers know what’s up if it’s not possible t...

Re: Stage IV Rectal Cancer being treated with Keytruda

Thank you for sharing. My husband is on Keytruda and XELOX right now and he is struggling with the side effects. We can't tell if it's the Keytruda or the XELOX. This gives me hope that maybe once he is on Keytruda only, he will start to feel so much better. Everyone responds differently but my onl...

Re: Stage IV Rectal Cancer being treated with Keytruda

How long treatment lasts entirely depends on the individual and how they respond over time. Clinical results for those genetically similar myself are extremely promising though for long term control. I have heard of those who had complete responses and were actually discharged from active treatment....

Re: Stage IV Rectal Cancer being treated with Keytruda

The reason why they didn’t start with that approach was because their initial goal was to attempt a cure through complete resection of all tumors in combination with FOLFOX. That didn’t work out because it had already spread beyond operability. Immunotherapy doesn’t offer a cure but can be effective...

Stage IV Rectal Cancer being treated with Keytruda

I was diagnosed late last year and am in treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering with Stage IV Rectal cancer with Liver metastases. I'm 27. My doctor ran the appropriate tests and discovered I have Lynch Syndrome (https://www.mskcc.org/cancer-care/risk-assessment-screening/hereditary-genetics/genetic-...
