PSK different from VPS

VPS and PSK are different extracts of the mushroom used, Coriolos Versicolor. PSK is the extract which has shown the best results, particularly in Japan. This is the study which refers to the VPS extract causing an increase in the size of the tumors. At the end it is mentioned how PSK had the opposi...

Re: PSK

I use the same source as the others, 3600 mg/day, 3 capsules in the morning 3 later in the day. It's important to take them on an empty stomach I've been told. I take three first thing in the morning, and the others between lunch and dinner.

Re: squatty potty

Absolutely recommend this. I use them and it does what it says, it seems that squatting to poop, as people have done through millennea is the best way to properly evacuate all of your waste matter. You will feel like you've cleared yourself fully after. I have improvised though, It's fairly easy to ...

Re: Poke Me With A Fork...

You sound like a perfect candidate for HAI at MSK. Liver limited metastases and you appear to be in fairly good health still, the heart issue can probably be managed by your team. Also, although Dr. Kemeny is the head cheese in there, ALL the oncologists work with her and use the pump, so you don't ...

2014 ASCO Abstracts now online

Here are the abstracts for this years meeting, lots of info, but keep in mind that most of this scientific lingo most of us don't fully understand. Still, lots of relevant information as to trials, results of new drug combinations, etc.

Re: It is SOOOOOO much worse than thought .....

It's hard to hear this, and it most be overwhelming for you and your family. I would, in your case start to think totally outside the box. It seems obvious that conventional therapies are not working for your husband, there are options outside in the alternative world that may help, though it's risk...

Re: new here...Any hope?... probably spread to liver

Hi and welcome, to the club none of us ever envisioned joining, but nonetheless a place for great information and support. In my opinion you don't need to upend your life and move to NYC. The goal is to be able to have a complete resection, R0 resection, of your liver tumors followed by a course of ...

S-1 oral chemo - Lung Mets complete response

Yes, this is a case report on ONE individual, but I've read about S-1 before and wondered why is not available in US. In Japan it has a long history and it's used with Irinotecan with pretty good results, in this particular case Avastin was added. Pretty impressive results, even if it's just one per...

Re: CEA levels creeping up- Need some advice please!

It's not unusual for CEA to rise during treatment. Don't panic, give it a bit more time. Read this abstract:

Re: Of Interest to the 53rd St. Gang

Pretty crazy story, as a NYC architecture aficionado, I had heard of this. Good thing it never came to happen, would have been devastating to say the least. It's a pretty impressive building nonetheless, I remember when it was going up. No worries, the issue has been corrected, the joints re-enforce...

Re: HAI pump

It's really unfortunate that this is not more widely available, although is not necessarily a cure, and not everyone benefits from it, it's an option which many more of us should have available. It does keep a lot of us cancer free and maybe cured, time will tell, but if not, it's ability to prolong...

Re: HAI pump

Here are a few sources of information about HAI treatment. The treatment itself is personalized by your team. The goal is to be able to deliver the chemotherapy to the liver effectively while rigorously monitoring liver enzymes, I received a total of 7 HAI treatments of FUDR, plus a number of system...

Re: Regarding the "Hallwag clinic"

Although I am certain my NED status is mostly the result of excellent medical care, experienced cancer centers, and lots of luck. I admire people like Pete who have gone a different way. What he, lohidoc and Ren have done is in my opinion invaluable to us cancer survivors/patients. I for one do not ...
