Re: Preparing a facts & to-do-list for "newcomers"?

I announced my intention to eat healthy and they reinforced that once I started chemo, the real important thing is that I eat and keep my weight up. And if the only thing I feel like eating is Frosted Flakes I should eat Frosted Flakes. (Which some days is kind of how it goes.) I agree Ginabewell! ...

Re: Preparing a facts & to-do-list for "newcomers"?

I agree Ginabewell! My oncologist told me that chemo works better with extra weight. If I want something, he said eat it! He did not want me losing any weight and said that you do not start changing your diet while on chemo.

Re: Affects of antibotics on blood work during survellance

Hey Beckster, I can't speak specifically to Clindamycin, but I was on massive amounts of antibiotics for an entire year as a result of a bacterial infection that started in my lung and spread to my brain. I did 2,000mg of Ceftriaxone by IV twice a day for 3 months, then switched over to five 960mg ...

Affects of antibotics on blood work during survellance

Hi everyone! Looking for some insight on how Clindamycin affects blood work, especially CEA and Liver function tests. I have not been on any antibotics since my surgery 2 years ago. Recently, my dentist put me on 300 mg of Clindamycin 2 times a day for 7 days for a possible tooth infection. I have m...

Re: Symptoms - Worry about it

I can only offer my personal experience.....Turned 50.....no colon cancer in my family, no symptoms, prestine blood work....so I waited until I was 57. Hello Colon Cancer! Re: "Dr" Google can be good

Google is a good thing as long as you are using it correctly. When I was diagnosed, I researched my cancer online. However, I made sure that I used crediable sources to gain knowledge. Most of my information came from scientific research sites and Google Scholar. In addition, because I am an adjunct...

Re: Post Colectomy gas

I searched for others online who were experiencing ongoing foul gas and small stools post colectomy - there were some older posts re using probiotics. I researched that in depth and started eating good pre and probiotics and specifically drink some kefir every day. For me I think the Kefir is makin...

Re: Terrified - 3cm polyp

Hello everyone, I'm new. And terrified.  Had an OGD and colonoscopy all at once under General anaesthetic.  I feel pretty battered and bruised after it,  back and abdominal pain.  But that's nothing compared to how sick I feel knowing that they found A 3cm polyp in my colon.  (Rest of bowel clear a...

Re: Circulating Tumor Cells (CTC) TESTS

Hello everyone I've just finished my chemo in November and had a clean scan, except that 3 or 4 small unknown spots had disappeared or shrunk through chemo. It leaves a big question mark regarding if they were mets or not. I have another scan in 2 weeks and some blood work on for tomorrow and I wan...

Re: New Here

We finally received some good news today that the nodule on his liver is not cancer. They’re going to do a test tomorrow to see if it’s grew into the rectal wall and potentially remove it. Great News! Did you move him or are you still at Inspira? Still in Inspira I think after this test we will be ...

Re: New member Hemicolectomy question

Welcome...I had a right hemicolectomy, which was performed laposcopic. I had two small holes and a 1 1/2 to 2 inch incision above my belly button. So, if you are talking about the incision, you are correct. This was performed 2 years ago and you can barely see the scar.
