Re: some people are never there - some venting ranting

Thank you all for responding and understanding. It is here that one can learn to evolve further beyond the acting and responding to surface level things. There is so much power in letting go of expectations and judgement I wish I was better at it. I chose to let it bother me. It is hard to let go of...

Re: Making water taste better on chemo?

My friend gave me some flavored green tea extract. I have always meant to buy more but it is pricey. They have a few flavors. http://www.pureinventions.com/ A bottle should get you about 50 drinks I would think and I have meant to keep it in my purse to save money buying drinks at restaurants (I am ...

some people are never there - some venting ranting

So yesterday I took my son a little friend from class and his brother to the pumpkin patch. The two brothers lost their mother to ovarian cancer a few years ago, and they were adopted so I feel they finally got a mother, then lost her, and their Dad is busy with 5 kids total - So I bring them over f...

Re: SOUTH PARK MR HANKEY

Year before my cancer we made a Mr Hankey Christmas poo out of oven bake clay. My 6 year old loves that ornament....some people have the pickle in the tree tradition, we have the Christmas poo - we also have a but on our tree and a boob - we were quite the sculptors with our funny ornaments - I gues...

Re: Not a good start to the day...TMI and venting...sorry

That is so hard feeling awful and caring for a 2yr old....I remember my son was 2.5 and full of energy and sometimes I was so tired. Maybe a friend/relative could take her to the park for a while before her nap so you can get rest, then you could get more rest, or catch up during her nap...then late...

Mammogram during BC month

just got a mamo today and ultrasound to check out a lump...great. At the imaging place I mentioned it must be a busy month with the whole breast cancer awareness. I was told lots of people schedule during October because they like the freebies, there was a basket of pink bracelets, they didn't bothe...

Alkalinity and oxygenated environments

I met a friend of a friend the other day and it turns out she is a nutritionist. We were sitting at an organic restaurant and she ordered a veggie smoothie. I mentioned that that would be terrible for me meaning the bubbly upset colon I would have following. She says she specializes in inflammation ...

I remember hearing that people who sweat a lot has something to do with kidney function....could be totally untrue and I have no ideas what it is based on

Ahh a new onc is a wonderful thing

So last fri I was worried about an enlarged ovary, but this week I have met my new Onc and I am so impressed and at ease, not that he's really that amazing, just that I realize what a stress bin the last office was and the couple docs I was dealing with (GP and old Onc). I found out yesterday my GP ...

Re: scared, all hopes are lost!

I looked at my briain pictures and thought I saw a met in the center and it was my neck vertebrae - I will pray that is nothing and I hope it is not so.
There are so many slices that comparing to other pics it has to be the same slice.

Re: cancer is stable but soul is dying

I agree with intestinal fortitude (I love that username, a guy I knew used the real saying all the time and he was a gem) ... You do need "every arrow in your quiver". You are probably very tired mentally and physically - it takes motivation to keep your house clean and organized. I am acu...

Re: ruling out an ovary met

wow I had forgotten how helpful people here are. This all happened yesterday - a friday afternoon - not a good time for getting last minute checks and scans..that is why the GP said the ER route. Someone mentioned enlargement due to ovulation...I don't know if 50% bigger could be that....but after 3...

ruling out an ovary met

I went to the doctor for right lower abdomen pain today and was ordered a CT with contrast which ruled out appendicitis, but noted an enlarged ovary @ 4cm 50% bigger than the other one. My doc is my GP and I don't trust her knowledge, I keep meaning to find another. She wanted me to go right to the ...

Re: black fingernails??

I had grey/blue verticle stripes on my fingernails and toenails nearing the end of treatment. I am irish/german descent. My onc said it is a sign of metal poisoning. Also my nailbeds showed ridges of growth where I could practically count the cyles I had...like a tree trunk would have. Luckily all r...
