Need feedback about chronic back pain

How many rectal cancer people out there have the chronic lower back pain? What IS it? Is it lack of muscles from weight loss? Bad posture from numb feet? Mark's last MRI scan of his spine turned out to show no cancer in his bones so that is not it. I'm perplexed. He's miserble and getting weaker eac...

re: City of Hope - anyone been treated there?

I'm in Los Angeles fending for my friend with stage IV rectal cancer. Has anyone out there been treated at City of Hope? Grasping at straws here...County hospitals leave much to be desired.

re: Still looking for treatment options in Mexico

Last time I inquired about this, there were some heated posts. Desperation sometimes makes one think outside the box. Anyone have any experience/know anyone who's been to Mexico and been treated there? Thanks.

re: For Hannah regarding E7820

Hannah, I posted something below asking about E7820. A study with that and Erbitux (the only drug he's not yet tried) is my friends last ditch effort to help his stage IV rectal cancer (mets to liver and lungs). You have mentioned: "Knowing that he has liver mets, I would also ask how the E7820 migh...

I already contacted Saphenia, was making arrangments for a trip to Jackson when a further discussion with a doctor there talked me out of it. He seemed to think, from my description of a recent CT, that it would be a waste of time. Anyone know how to contact Christine? I'd like to pick her brain. Ma...

Anyone been to Mexico, cont.

Where did the "several people you've spoken to" go EXACTLY. It is not a problem to find information online about alternative treatments but it is very difficult to find out where these are being put in practice - at least places that are legitimate that don't cost small fortunes. The clinic in Arizo...

That question deserves another answer. I find it very odd that when my cholesterol was through the ceiling (236), the doctor didn't seem alarmed (now that "normal" cholesterol is around 200) but said he'd be happy to give me statins. First I asked why he wasn't concerned - people on both sides of my...

Good question. Seems interesting that folks like Magic Johnson whose HIV never got worse but rumored to have Ozone Therapy, Eddie Van Halen who smoked and drank his way to tounge cancer, and who still smokes by the way, was treated outside the country with "an illegal treatment that I'd be arrested ...

I've already sent Mark's scans to the best doctor on the West Coast performing ablation. His tumors are too numerous and they cannot perform the procedure. None of the chemo has helped to shrink them either. I'm on top of all treatments since I spend hours online researching. The only options at thi...

Chronic Coughing - HELP!!

Has anyone had ridiculous coughing as a side effect of cancer? My friend has stage IV rectal with mets to liver and lungs. This weeks-long coughing is getting worse and I'm not having much luck with the doctors who keep saying it is a sinus infection or just a cold. I would think a sinus infection w...

Anyone on E7820 or Panitumumab?

My friend is going on a new scary trial using the drug E7820 with Erbitux. Anyone out there on this regimen, heard of it, know anything about it? I'm also looking into the Panitumumab. Any comments good or bad from anyone out there, especially those with Stage IV rectal cancer mets to liver and lung...

To Erika or any other Stage IV's with mets to liver and lung

Erika, did you have mets to the lungs in addition to the liver? I am trying to find some encourging words for my friends who's rectal cancer is not responding to any chemo. He's about to get on a trial - very experimental using a new drug barely used on humans. Are there ANY stage IV's out there who...

ANY STAGE IV'S OUT THERE WITH METS TO LIVER AND LUNGS???

I'm trying to find some words to comfort my friend with stage IV rectal cancer. It would be so helpful to talk with or hear from someone that is going through this or, hopefully, that has overcome this. My friend has many lesions in the liver and both lungs, is inoperable and is on chemo indefinitel...
