Re: Pain + off for ultrasound tomorrow

Jay - you and I had our hernia repairs about the same time. I have resumed doing hard manual labor working in my yard which includes lifting, pushing, hauling, etc. I have to say that after a hard workday - I get pains in my upper left side where the mesh was attached. It really gets my attention. I...

Re: Colonscopy every 3 years if first colonscopy after surgery clear?

Just had my first colonoscopy one year after dx/surgery. It was all clear and the GI said I'll see you in three years. I have CT scans every six months for 2 years then every year until all clear at 5 years.

Re: what a day - some promising news

My situation was a little different in that my initial CT scan showed a spot on my liver that the radiologist termed as probable hemangioma. I pushed for a PET scan to confirm - it was confirmed to be a benign hemangioma. You had a lot thrown at you on one day - but now you are one step (or 3 or 4) ...

Re: OT had rough week

Ronni - first I want to wish you a pain free speedy recovery. I am just so ticked that you have to deal with the marital issues on top of your physical ones. I truly believe in Karma for those that abuse the hearts of others - and your hub has some major bad juju coming his way. I hope he at least e...

Re: colonoscopy prep cost

Mine was Moviprep and with insurance was $20.52. Only this time it was double ($41.04) because I dropped the first dose container before I got the lid on and spilled it all over the kitchen floor (thank you numb fingertips!!). Had to have the doc prescribe a second one to finish the second dose the ...

Re: Oncologist appointment Monday

Im so sorry you're having such a rough time right now. I hope you will get the answers you need to help squelch your fear of recurrence. I know it's hard not to worry - I do too - every time there is an unexpected pain somewhere in the abdomen - and there have been many. I have to make an effort to ...

Pancreatic cysts and colon cancer

Yesterday I had an endoscopy and 1 yr post dx colonoscopy. Yes, they got me from both ends. Colonoscopy was clear. Endoscopy was to ultrasound and biopsy a spot on my pancreas that showed on my original CT scan at dx for colon cancer and remained unchanged on CT in Dec. Onc wanted it checked. GI sai...

Re: Religion on the forum? Your thoughts?

I have a very deep faith and am a Christian but do not attend organized denominational church. My husband is Buddhist. I would say our son is a deist but takes teachings from both Christianity and Buddhism as guidance but is not religious and questions organized religion. My MIL recently passed away...
