Re: How to get a doctor to chastise another doctor

You do not ssay that you contracted hepatitis as a result of care you received at this clinic. If you didn't you have no grounds to sue. What are your damages? You have to have damages to sue.

Best wishes.

Re: Things people say or don't say but it's okay

That post is dedicated to Delinda and CrystalD and Voxx and Bella and so many others. Always in our hearts. Oh, the fine people you're naming! Now I imagine Voxx commenting on all this: HA. : ) Edited to add: I want to remember this night dianne052506 and Skypup. I'm going to copy here a tale that ...

Re: Things people say or don't say but it's okay

When I first joined this board after being diagnosed, I had a tough decision to make. I could choose the standard treatment for rectal cancer (radiation and Xeloda followed by surgery and then six months of Folfox) or I could choose a clinical trial (no radiation, three months of Folfox, then surge...

Re: PREP GETS HARDER TO TOLERATE

Hi Michele, So sorry to hear you had a yuck time with the prep. The stuff is almost too horrible (to me) to describe. I had a colonoscopy at Dartmouth a year or so ago, the prep was awful, then the tech tolf me afterwards that it was an inadequate prep. The GI colonoscopist did not even come in to s...

Re: Things people say or don't say but it's okay

Christine, Obviously you didn't understand my post. You've done a tremendous amount of reading and it's hard for me to understand what you are not understanding. The TNM system is NOT the same as colon cancer staging. Any spread to a distant organ is STAGE IV disease. You mentioned your husband's li...

Re: Just got post-surgery results and they aren't good

Xeloda is metabolized further down the metabolic pathway to 5FU. As you have now read, other than some side effects differences (eg hand/foot syndrome), they really are pretty much the same drugs. In my experience here, over the past 7 years, selection of the route of 5FU is dependent upon how peopl...

Re: 38 yr old wants colonoscopy, doctor declined

Just FYI, yes, new doctors always start the 1st of July, perhaps a week earlier in some facilities These are docs entering their intern year, the first year out of medical school. I can virtually assure you that you won't have an intern doing your colonoscopy. I'm glad you hung tough to get your sco...

Re: Things people say or don't say but it's okay

Bev, The MSKCC nomogram webpage doesn't say that it is NOT valid for those of with mCRC, so how did you come up with this? In fact, the selection criteria for the STAGE field are : T1, T2, T3, T4. I'd really like to know where you got that info. Thanks. Christine Christine, the T analysis does NOT ...

Re: Things people say or don't say but it's okay

Hello, No way I have enough time to read all of your links. I did want to let you know that the MSKCC nomogram is NOT valid for those of us with mCRC (which I believe your husband has), so it's not useful to use that nomogram for us stage IV folks. Probably using ACA website is a better source for p...

Re: Yellow then mucus stools.

Hi Julieanne, I'm sorry you're not feeling well, and sorry no one has responded to you. You really need to see a GI doc to have your issue evaluated. I think suspect would be your gall bladder, butt you need a doc's advice. Please go ahead and get that checked out. Feel better soon. Best wishes, Bev

Re: Things Not to Say and the Responses I want to Make (Rant)

We drink water that I collect from a spring on top of a mountain at a national forest that we live in the foothills of. I wonder what its pH is. Also, whenever I can, I buy alkalized water. I have recently been making sure that my husband drinks it also, now that he has been DXed. Are you kidding??...

Re: Things Not to Say and the Responses I want to Make (Rant)

"An alternative to chemo? Alot of forum members are undergoing chemo regimes with high hopes of curative intent." I don't see how the existence of an alternative to chemo threatens or somehow denigrates the hopes of a cure via chemo-only. That being said, I can understand the underlying a...
