Re: Any Stage IV currently in NEDville? Please share any advice or tips? P

. . . I have seen quite a lot of people's signatures said they are Stage IV and currently NED. I would love to hear from you 1. Anybody who has had a recurrence (or more) but didn't need chemo? Just surgical removal of the mets? I had chemo for liver mets after the colon resect / before the liver j...

Re: Liver question

. . . Occasionally i worry that something is wrong, wherever i happen to feel something different . . . Welcome to the club! It'll take quite a while, if ever, to regain the level of trust that you were used to. My advice: take any opportunity to celebrate successes and find a single expert that yo...

Did you arrange this, or did it just happen?
I woke up during my last scopy (no fuzz - found it a learning) and have one coming up in June or so. Am thinking of being conscious again, if possible and not too uncomfortable)

Re: Possibly unnecessary open liver surgery

. . . considering diminished liver capacity, it probably still makes sense to adjust his diet . . . No need to worry about liver capacity. Mine lost some 75% and we've seen it grow back to original size and capacity within weeks. Most of the work done within the first month. My docs said that they ...

Re: Ct scan vs colonoscopy

Colonoscopy vs. virtual colonoscopy (link) Where the pros and cons are discussed the linked article says: If you’re leaning toward a virtual colonoscopy so you can avoid the colon-cleansing prep, think again. Both tests require a clean colon. That means you can only have clear liquids the day befor...

Re: Mother stage IV, terrified

How old is your mom? Is she frail, may be? I ask for reason that I was in somewhat similar circumstance in 2012 (I was 65 then), but had with a very different plan of attack. Docs, in consultation with the review board, suggested to go for aggressive treatment despite inoperable liver mets. Had a te...

Re: MSS and Nivolumab (Opdivo)

Hi Steph,

Tom Marsilje, no longer with us now, often shared his expert knowledge on MSS treatments, incl Opdivo. See today's post by Henry123.

Henry's signature says that he started Opdivo in June 2016.
We'll miss Tom

Re: Freaked out.

My guess is its in the area of the spleen. I had colon removed @ splenix junction. If this is any help: my 'lump' also varied between soft (hardly palpable) to fairly solid - walnut size. But at the front (not deep/at the back, as yours) Started to feel it Q1 2015 . Had an extra colonoscopy immedia...

Re: Freaked out.

. . . lump on my left side just under the rib cage at the back. It comes and goes but it's just noticeable . . . I have/had something similar a early 2016. Felt a hardened spot, left under rib cage. Walnut size. It came and went. Not really hard, but not soft either. Had it at the front. Docs had a...

Re: Feeling “NED”

Wow, Basil, congrats on the results so far.
And pathology concluding that you have Complete Response is exceptional - very promising. With pCR you're in a very different branch of the probability tree that overall survival statistics are based on.
