Anti Depressants

Hello, Has anyone caregiver or patient take anti depressants? Are they helpful and what do they really do? My wife asked me today to set up an appointment to get depression pills for both of us, because she hears me crying and doesn't know what to do and it makes her depressed. I try to close the do...

Re: My Current Protocol——-All Thoughts/Criticism Welcomed

Sorry PCCR - You do know there is no cure for cancer right? There is however therapy to increase livelihood and some people with small mets Chemo does destroy it. Why are you so against SOC? I truly understand its your prerogative and decision not to do SOC, but cancer is not curable, curative inten...

Re: Rectal Cancer 12 patients cured

MadMed - You are not being cynical thus the conundrum of cancer cure. Many people would lose jobs, billions of revenue would be lost and it would be a huge disrupt in the industry. It is an absolute shame that human lives are not as important vs dollars...at least I feel that way. I understand there...

Re: Rectal Cancer 12 patients cured

From my doctor's office

"Good morning,

This study is for patients with a certain mutation (MSI-H ) on the tumors, which will not apply in you case."

MSI has so many options but 85% of rectal is MSS, what the ****!!

Re: Need advice: Margins were not clear

I have distant metastasis, but there not a concern. The local cancer is the concern, mine is currently invading bladder/prostate which is causing some pain with peeing, so I am on flomax right now. The distant mets can be managed but the primary is the real problem. The cancer that was initially the...

Re: Need advice: Margins were not clear

Hi, After my LAR (lower anterior resection) the margins came back positive. Unfortunately for me 4 years later I am still fighting. After my surgery in 4/2018, about a 1.5 month break and they put me on FolFiri to see if they can kill any small tumors in the positive CRM. This was my results from su...

Re: Increasing CEA

When my cancer intially started I think my CEA was 32 and it was in my rectum only, once it went to my liver it shot up to 600, it started going down after getting on treatments, etc..So with that being said, your CEA based on your last statement probably is not a good indicator which is a good thin...

Re: Increasing CEA

my cea was .8 and kept rising it is a sign that cancer is growing. Not trying to scare you but usually that's what it means. Scans are king thought and until something shows nothing to worry about. If your CEA has been a good indicator for you and its creeping up that means your cancer is growing ty...

Re: Tough decision - your input welcome!

As much as I hate Chemo, Claudine; I think your husband is making the right decision. My rectal cancer just won't go away and is around the pelvis and can't really be treated with Surgery anymore, at least that's what it seems like, waiting for 2nd opinion doc, but good decision.
