I should have added that my resection was also very near the rectum...where the colon and rectum meet? I had 15 cm's of colon removed. I have been trying the metamucil thing too...with mixed results. I don't have diarrhea per se...more of 'sludge'..sorry if this is too gross!

It's been over 10 weeks and unless I take immodium every couple of days to control it, I keep running to the toilet.

I'm just wondering if, and when things will settle down.

I've got a bunch of Ativan left over from surgery. How soon before the chemo treatment do you take it? I was also told I can take it for the MRI (I'm claustrophobic)...so again, I don't know how much time to give it to work.
