I know what you mean, cynnycal. If I'm not pooping like a big dog, I thing something's wrong. It's becoming normal for me. I hope it slows down some eventually, but I can deal if it doesn't.

I'm not having diarrhea, and only have constipation after my treatment. I'm told that's from my Zoferan. Anyway I DO have lots and lots of BMs. Four to six a day. Big, bulky, soft ones. The kind octagenarians dream about. I shouldn't complain, but I feel like I live in the bathroom. I usually go aft...

Ditto the above post. Too much information can be a bad thing too, although information is usually a good thing. Did that make sense? You need more info specificly about YOU, not about everyone else. Precancerous polyps can bleed, sometimes a lot. Early cancers are very treatable, and even somewhat ...

My CEA was 0.7 before surgery. It won't be too useful as a marker in the future because it never did elevate even when there was tumor there. There's no detectable tumor now, but should it recur, I doubt we'd see any increase in CEA. We'll just have to watch the scans. CEA is a useful tool, but it's...

I was perimenopausal at the start of treatment, and infertile before that, so fertility was never an issue for me. It's just the hot flashes. It sounds like the chemo is a factor, and maybe things will get better after the treatment is over. Maybe. Although for me, it will have been a year since my ...

Monkeyblam, you brought up a good point about the perception that some people bring their illness on themselves, ie lung cancer and AIDS. I had a conversation with a nurse years ago who said she had no sympathy for AIDS patients because they got themselves into their situation. She said that sitting...

This never came up with me because I was already perimenopausal when I started treatment. What I did discover was that I had been having very little in the way of hot flashes before I started treatment and now I'm flashing like a fire alarm! Wow! Hot flashes are listed in my protocol as a possible s...

Keep in mind colon cancer at such an early age IS unusual, although obviously not imposssible. Other causes of the symptoms are also quite possible. Getting EVERYTHING checked until there's an answer is important. You can't rule out what you never looked for. Keep plugging at it until you find out w...

Hey all! I was having some problems with neuropathy, and wasn't too worried about it. I'd rather stay alive than eat popcicles, if ya know what I mean. I had some tingling in my hands when I got cold, couldn't make salads or get anything out of the freeer, even with gloves on, and couldn't eat or dr...

Unfortunate competition

Doesn't it seem a shame that all the different cancers and their organizations seem to be competing for funding and public awareness? I fully support breast cancer research and public education, but when I see pink ribbons EVERYWHERE and not one blue, green, gold, black, pearl, or teal, or any other...

My WBC was down last time and they tried delaying my treatment by a week. It was still down, so they gave me Neulasta. It's making me achy, but hopefully it will work. If I can get my treatment on Monday, it will have been four weeks instead of two. They told me almost everyone has to have some adju...

Diverticulitis wasn't a bad guess, but if it's not responding to treatment, you need another look. Colon cancer may not show up on a CT. Keep at it until you have an answer. The answer may not be cancer. Let's hope not. But you some kind of answer. I had diverticulitis a month ago, and it took a whi...
