Is this neuropathy?

I forgot to mention this to my Onc at our last meeting and was wondering if any of you guys have experienced this? I've been getting this weird sensation, it sort of feels like a sudden rush of blood (or possibly a tingly sensation) starting from the top of my ankles/bottom of calfs running down to ...

Re: Help for my husband diagnosed 9/16/16 Stage III?

When the doctor told me the prognosis stats for stage 3 which is somewhere around 40% 5 year survival rate based on surgery alone vs 70% 5 year survival rate for surgery + chemo, I never even questioned not doing chemo. I would do anything possible to increase my chances of survival. Right now i'm i...

Re: Another Newbie here - Stage IIIC questions on treatment

Hi LCHwife, I had chemo just bags of 5Fu via canular and 9 tablets of levamisole for three days after every second Tuesday. I had chemo for 48 Tuesdays. Wow 48 sessions of chemo?? I'm stage 3c and have my last cycle (12) of FOLOX next week. Why did you have so many sessions, was it the norm back th...

Re: 5FU pump

I'm so glad I don't have the whiney one, I didn't even know that was a thing haha. Mine makes no noise and looks pretty much like this picture http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/prod_consump/groups/cr_common/@cah/@gen/documents/image/cr_045180.jpg I still hate it and never leave the house when I have it

Life after treatment

I guess this is more a question for those NED after going through 12 rounds of folfox, I want to hear your stories about life after treatment. Did you go back to your every day routine prior to diagnosis? did you take time off to travel? new career? anything you wish you would've done differently? I...

Re: Adjuvant treatment finishes soon - what next

Thats interesting Lee that your doc said you weren't allowed to lose weight for 3 years. Why is that? I know you mentioned weight loss as a sign of cancer but surely with routine monitoring in place that would be a better indicator I to have gained weight throughout treatment and plan to exercise an...

Re: Silly vanity . . . I know I shouldn't complain, but I will anyway

My hair thinned out during my first 5-6 cycles but now appears to have ceased falling out. Hairs used to be everywhere! It really is a blow to your self esteem. And I can kind of relate to the skin pigmentation, i had a full body rash due to an allergic reaction and the rash pigmented :( so I look p...

Re: Immunotherapy Trial: Patients WITH Brain Metastases

Is it okay if I ask a question regarding brain metastases? if it doesnt really belong here I can post a new thread People who have CT scans after first being diagnosed and those who are NED receiving follow up scans, do they usually include scans of the brain, or just chest/abdomen? I raised the que...

Re: Little delay in treatment = disappointed

hey mate I understand your disappointment with the delays. I had the same with my 8th cycle, it was delayed by two weeks as one week wasnt enough to get it up. It went from 0.8 (so delay one week) to 0.7 (ok delay another week) to 4 (yay finally can proceed). It was extremely frustrating and an emot...

Re: I have so many questions!

Before starting FOLFOX my onc touched upon infertility as a side effect which I already understood and was fine with so our conversation didnt last very long on that subject but your onc should have definitely mentioned it and provided resources for you to think about freezing eggs and whatever else...

Is CEA generally checked during adjuvant chemo?

Mine isn't being checked. They said they would start monitoring it after chemo was finished but not during.

Just wanted to hear other peoples experiences

Re: Question re maintenance following cessation of chemo

That sounds about right. I recall my onc telling me follow ups would be 3 monthly CEA tests, 6 monthly CT scans and yearly colonoscopies, couldn't remember how long before it starts to taper but 2 years sounds right.

Congrats on the last round! Go out and celebrate :D
