Re: Anxiety attack. Stage 4 survivor stories needed

Hi, My diagnosis seems similar to yours. I had a right hemi and liver resection (gall bladder, appendix, illeocal valve gone too) 3 weeks after diagnosis. Then I had 12 cycles of FOLFOX plus Avastin. Additionally, I participated in a 4 month Phase 1 vaccine trial. I've been NED since surgery in Aug...

Re: Anxiety attack. Stage 4 survivor stories needed

I was diagnosed on July 22, 2004. Easy to remember that day, it was my 43rd birthday. I was given six months to live but told I could die at any minute. While I was driving around to get my medical records to go to a top notch hospital, a car tried to pass me on the shoulder in heavy traffic and hi...

Re: Was seen by two oncologists and their treatment plans

Consult a surgeon and go for an outright resection if possible. That'll give you better odds.

Re: NewHere - Starting Chemo Soon

Hi. Welcome to the club but sorry to hear about your diagnosis. The good thing is you've had surgery. Just go through the chemo to mop up anything that's left. Hoping for the best outcome for you.

Anxiety attack. Stage 4 survivor stories needed

Noticed a few nice NED posts recently on the forum. I know there are old threads on stage 4 survivors. Been feeling some anxiety lately, over the future and the uncertainty of it, etc. I'm sure most of you here know what I mean. Just thought a fresh thread for long term stage 4 survivors would be a ...

Just wondering, does your onc agree with you taking L-glutamine?

Sorry to hear this. Just wondering why HIPEC isn't an option. Maybe you should get a second opinion. Don't ever give up.

Re: Curing cancer with carrots

I dont have anything against alternative treatments. But my personal stand would be to do all of them as maintenance AFTER traditional, evidence-based therapy. Yes that means surgery and chemo.

Just an update ongoing chemo

Hi all. Just an update on myself. Currently on my 5th session of FOLFOX plus Erbitux. Chemo has been relatively kind to me I think. Neuropathy isnt so bad. In fact I have been able to practice surgery in between cycles of chemo without any problems. Noticed some thinning of my hair and lots of loose...

Re: Colon cancer mets ??? Options

Sorry to hear about your husband. First of all do not lose hope. There are always options whether traditional or alternative, evidence-based or otherwise. I would suggest you look into HIPEC. I have no personal experience or testimonial but based on my limited knowledge of oncologic sugery its may b...

Re: Advice urgently needed - liver resection now or later

Hi Sha, go for the resection while its an option. It'll offer the best chance of potential cure.
