Re: TP survey

I buy HEB's Finest when it's on sale in the 12 pack. Otherwise, their other store brand is $1.65 for a double roll 4 pack and it's good enough for me. Having an ostomy, I don't worry about softness so much anymore. And Hubs doesn't complain about it.

Sorry about your pet! Beagles are just about my favorite breed- so darn cute. No pets anymore for me as I get older. Just waiting for my last two chickens to cross over. For the past 10 years, we've kept a flock of about 7 in a backyard tractor.

December 15. Never have liked having Dec. b-day. They always ignored it for Christmas. Two brothers and a sister also have dec. b-days, so I had company in being ignored.

Re: When your bag becomes a mylar balloon :(

Not sure which system you are using, Hollister seems to be the most prone to pop off, but the filter is the best one out there. The Coloplast filter is crap but you are never gonna have that baby pop off unless it unclicks the lock. And the Convatec filter leaks poo and doesn't work in addition, but...

I second toto toliets, we have custom built house and builder put them in. Only time one clogged was when my nieces managed to put what looked like a whole roll of paper in it! They work very well otherwise.

Re: OT Fall

Painintheass, I know what you are talking about. We spent 13 years in Tempe. I started getting depressed every May, knowing what was to come. And, we were under the flight path for Sky Harbor and the smell of the exhaust would mix with the hot air and be really oppressive. Even the monsoon only brou...

Re: Ostomy nurse -- where to find/ how to get? Perm ileo surgery soon.

When I was given the colostomy, I was dumber than dumb about the whole thing. Some days after surgery, while still in hospital, an ostomy nurse showed up in my room with supplies, a catalogue and she showed me how to change out the system that had been applied while I was still "out". The ...

This movie is available I think on Netflix streaming and please watch it if you can.
Highly recommended and will surely reiterate that some surgeons have hands of God.

Will look for that one. The Judge is only on DVD, and as I am on DD's account, can't do those.

Re: The Judge Movie

I agree with Andy 21 about surgeons. Your prognosis is going to be as good as your surgeon. We need to chose carefully and not just jump in and take who is available or in your area. Check them out on the internet. Jackie Yes! Because doing that made me wind up with a permanent colostomy, which I v...

Re: Colonoscopy with a colostomy

Shouldn't be a problem at all for you. Prep is much simpler as you don't get a sore butt and scoping thru the stoma is painless. You will be very gassy afterward so use a filtered bag or something you can burp easily. Hoping you have luck with a good reversal, as well.

BB, they weren't worms, I know cabbage loopers now. It was some kind of aphid looking insect, quite small and really in there! I know and have BT which I have to use for the catapillars that infest Texas mountain laurels every year. Little bit squeemish about using on veggies. Just planted 4 tomato ...

Re: O/T Good Gardening

Good looking garden, guy! Reminds me of the only time I ever grew broccoli. It was northern Ohio in a little garden I started. Absolutely beautiful florets! Brought them in to wash before cooking and little bugs started coming out!! So many of them I couldn't get all of them out for sure. I finally ...

Interesting and inspiring story. Read it with fascination. BTW, I was dxed about a month after you, so this is my eleventh cancerversary as well. Congrates for making it this far, didn't sound like you had much of a chance there.
