Re: I'm In Shock and I am truly So-Scared ....

I want to thank each and every one of you for your support. It really does mean a lot to be able to share with people who truly get it. I haven't even told my family yet. Pretty crappy of me. I am just not in the mood for all of the mushy nice stuff that they will say etc. It is well intentioned and...

I'm In Shock and I am truly So-Scared ....

I guess that my screen name fits me today. So, Scott's tests results are in. He had an MRI of his thoracic and cervical spine, a PET scan, and an ultrasound of his liver. They ordered these because of his very recent escalating back pain, numbness, etc and his rising bilirubin/liver enzymes. The doc...

Re: Back to square one...chemo not working

I am so sorry to read this. I hope that the consult at MD Anderson results in a new and affective approach. This is a rough ride and I am so sorry that your DH's cancer is not responding at this time. Hang in there!

Re: And So The Pain Begins. Question about Bone Mets ...

Thanks for the responses and info. ColOrPan I sure hope that your husband's pain continues to fade. Scott is having a PET scan, mri of spine, and an ultrasound of his liver this morning. We should know more of what is causing the problems after these tests. Once we know, we can address it (hopefully...

Re: Portal Vein Thrombosis ... what's next

Yes, Julie. His diagnosis was often sepsis with that leak. I am not sure what his platelets are now but they were okay 4 weeks ago. I don't have a copy of the most recent blood work handy. I did ask about an alternative med. I guess there are choices but the end result is the same and they feel that...

Re: Liver resection post op

My DH came out of liver/primary/ileostomy surgery with an NG tube in place. It remained in for a few days after the surgery.

I hope that your mom feels better soon!

And So The Pain Begins. Question about Bone Mets ...

Scott's ct about a month ago showed three bone lesions in his spine. He didn't have any bone mets before this last scan. He has one in his cervical spine and two in his thoracic spine. He is now having very significant back pain. Last week his right shoulder was numb on and off and this week both sh...

Re: DH's liver resection aborted - so sad.

Pattie, I am so sorry to read this. I know how exciting it is to finally get a surgeon to address the stuff in the liver. I was so worried when my DH had surgery that they would find what they did in your husbands case. My heart goes out to you. I hope that you two are able to find a doc to do the H...

Re: Portal Vein Thrombosis ... what's next

Thanks, Bev. I am praying that this clot just sits there an behaves itself. I know that Lovenox does not CAUSE bleeding but I suggested to the local onc that maybe Scott is more sensitive to the stuff than others. He damn near bled to death from a nose bleed in the icu about a year and a half ago. H...

Thanks Maia and Vilca! I appreciate the kind words and support!

I guess, based on the lack of responses, that this is not a common problem to have.

Tough time.

Portal Vein Thrombosis ... what's next

I have been reading regularly but not posting too much lately. I'm running a bit low on energy these days. Stress ... gotta love it! Scott's ct in Jan showed a blood clot in his portal vein. He was put on Lovenox 60 mg twice a day. The clot was actually a little bit bigger on the last ct. He was to ...
