Re: Sigmoid + Distant Lymph Nodes

Siti - can you describe your husband's TS-1(aka S-1 etc) dosage(s) and changes over the last 4 years? Any of the off-label stuff like PSK, celecoxib, megavitamins etc? Hi rp1954 — thank you for your comprehensive reply. He switched from capecitabine to TS-1 after 8 months because his HFS was unbear...

Re: Sigmoid + Distant Lymph Nodes

Fingers crossed for both our men Thanks for your reply. I hope so too! We just got off the phone with the hospital and as informed that they will do a simple biopsy to check if it’s colon cancer, another disease. They will not be doing a thorough biopsy to check for further mutations because the sa...

Re: Sigmoid + Distant Lymph Nodes

Hey everyone, It’s been over 4 years since my husband was diagnosed. For the past 3.5 years, he has been on maintenance chemo + bev, it worked very well as he had clear CT scans since then. CEA was never an indicator for him. The hospital stopped measuring his CEA and only took the reading periodica...

Re: Book Recommendations

I think many of us here have read the same books, some inspirational, some confusing, some that give hope and some that causes more stress. Personally I quite like "Foods to Fight Cancer". It's an easy read, lots of interesting facts and great as a guide/reference (https://www.dk.com/us/bo...

Re: 4 years

I am so incredibly moved by everyone's support and kind words. I read each of your replies several times and took the time to reflect over the weekend. I feel like I don't deserve to talk about my struggles because I have so much to be grateful for...but I am slowly disappearing and I recognise my b...

My husband does. He usually tolerates the cold quite well but since his diagnosis, he really suffers from the cold.

Re: Xeloda dosing

Hi Rob, I am really sorry to hear about your bad scan. I think you’re possibly one of the most well informed patient here so I’m not sure if my input would be any good but just sharing based on experience. The doctors in Netherlands do not recommend high dose of any supplements. They believe that so...

Re: rachelfromnyc

Couldn’t sleep last night. The news really hit hard.

Beach sunrise —I did a Google search and found her gofundme page. Great news is it has reached its goal, but I am too late to donate as it’s closed. I’ll do a donation to the colon club on her behalf.

Devastating news… she was the same age as me and we shared many DMs together, giving each other encouragement. Absolutely heartbreaking :( A gofundme has been set up for a park bench in Central Park. It was her favorite place. "Central Park Memorial for Rachel Lee Seraspe" if anyone would ...
