Venting !!

Hey friends, I feel pretty pissed about the effects of radiations i had for colorectal cancer. Sex is painful and menaupose at 40 sucks. And if that's not enough, i am having a double mastectomy in less than 2 weeks to prevent future cancers, after they found ductal carcinoma in situ on the right br...

Re: Long travel after reversal ileostomy.

After my reversal, things were very good after a week. Definitely able to fly 13 hours after a month. I've read bad stories about reversals but that is really not my experience. I don't know if being back to normal is the exception or the norm but for me it is very good- no complaints!

Re: Ideas to be supportive

What I would 've loved at the beginning was for someone to just listen to me rambling, without saying much in return as there isn't much to say- just a non -judgemental space for me to unload. Now, 1+ year later, I don't want to talk about it anymore despite a new diagnosis. I am sick of it and i wa...

I want my MIL to get cancer!

That's how mean i am!! I want her to go through the diagnosis, the 'you have cancer' news, the fear of where has the cancer gone, am i dying?, the scans, the waiting for treatment, the shit bag and the whole ordeal! I'm having a horrible time right now with her and her "wisdom" on how to d...

Re: Question...Cancer and privacy vs openness

I have been open because that was my first instinct- i wanted to tell strangers on the street!!!. Now, a year and a half later and one more cancer later ( breast), I don't feel the same. I hate people's reactions, the stay positive, the oh i am soooo sorry bla bla, none of it is doing me any good. P...

Re: All for nothing

I highly doubt they will cancel your surgery. Anything that can be removed surgically, it will. What do you know about that node? Can it be removed? Radiation? I understand your anxiety, it's human. What i can tell you is the surgery is not as bad as we make it to be in our minds. The stoma might ta...

Re: Xeloda VS 5-FU

Yes. I had 5fu for 3 weeks with no side effects at all. I then changed to Xeloda to get rid off the pump and i had the hand foot syndrome right away plus an overall intoxicated feeling, my eyes felt like i had just left a bar full of smoke. But, i was happy to be rid of the pump. If you are just com...
