Re: Covid 19 vaccine

Thought I would chime in on this topic. I am from NJ, which was one of the hardest hit states. Right now, the virus is running rampant for a second time and actually hitting people worse than the first wave from March. I will be getting the Pfizer vaccine on Tuesday. I emailed my oncologist to make ...

Re: New doctor questions

When I was diagnosed 4 years ago, I was given an oncologist who specialized in gastro cancers, which included colon. 4 years later, I sent a friend to him for his treatments, While my friend was going through chemo sessions, he was able to speak to different people while going through infusions. Com...

Re: So, what is the deal with perineural invasion (PNI)?

I am a T3N0M0, Stage 2A. I did not have PNI, but I did have LVI. Because of this risk factor, I was on chemo for 6 months. I took Xeloda, which is a pill form of 5FU. I have not regrets and wanted to do everything possible to make sure the cancer did not come back. My onc is part of MD Anderson, and...

Re: LVI positive/neg

I had LVI with no lymph node involvement. Stage 2A T3N0M0. LVI is considered a high risk of recurrence, but it is subjective. I have been cancer free for almost 4 years.

Re: 3b right sided colon cancer questions for Onc

He needs to know his basic tumor genetics: MSS/MSI, BRAF and KRAS wildtype or mutated. The big question will probably be advujant chemo or not. (Or immunotherapy if he is MSI.) There's a lot of discussion right now about not taking the risk during the height of the epidemic. Thanks for the response...

Re: Nomogram Predictive Tools--Are they accurate?

Can someone link to "adjuvent online"? I can't find it. Thanks. Adjuvent online is still upgrading...however try this. https://oncoassist.com/adjuvant-tools/ You have to create an account so I used "other" in the required fields and it accepted the information. I was never able ...

Re: Diagnosed with colon cancer

Welcome to the group! I was floored when I was diagnosed...no symptoms and perfect blood work. It was found during a routine colonoscopy. I know how you are feeling and so does everyone else in this group. When I asked the surgeon how this happened..he said it is 50% genetics and 50% environment. On...

Re: Seizure - New to Colon Talk

Thanks Debm and Beckster. It sounds a lot like that orthostatic hypotension. I'm almost certain it has been due in part to the chemo drugs as I've never had a problem with BP before and i'm certainly drinking a lot more water than I have ever had however maybe it hasn't been enough. Once I've had t...

Re: Seizure - New to Colon Talk

Hi 3legs... I am a stage 2a colon cancer survivor. Diagnosed in 2016 and went through 6months of Xeloda. After chemo, I watched what I ate and exercised regularly. I turned 60 in September and had a milestone BD party, which I also celebrated 3 years NED. That night I woke up from sleep and went to ...
