Re: Newbie

While I don't have lung things, I do have liver things. Two of them, around 1.5cm each. They have been declared benign - one a hemangioma and another is some "hyper plastic blah blahblah" ...One of the things sometimes doesn't show on scans at all. and then, there it is again. But the poin...

Re: Survivor Depression...?

I wouldn't say you have survivor depression. You've just been through a LOT, and it's all still very recent, and you need time to get past it. Take it easy on yourself, and know that every day is another day you are further away from the whole ordeal. Take whatever time you need to grieve, heal, and...

Re: My path report says 0/3 lymph nodes, perineural invasion

Hi All, My pathology reports says pT3NO, perineural invasion at several foci, 0/3 lymph nodes. I am in dillema that why he removed only 3 lymph nodes. Generally I can see that minimum 12 lymph node has to be removed in case of cancer. When I asked pathologist they told me they got only 3 lymph node...

Re: Lynch syndrome

To answer your two main questions: On Lynch syndrome: Do any other family members have cancer or have had it? It's passed down the family tree. If a parent has it, any offspring have a 50% chance of inheriting it. It's a personal choice whether you are tested or not, but if i was offered the choice ...

Re: Clean scan. Oh wait...just kidding!

To answer questions: I feel like I did have liver symptoms - twinges and pressure- but I am not sure if that was in my head or not. My liver things are about 1.5 cm each and in sections 1 and 4 which are right in the middle so I am not sure about that one. As far as how I picked my name, disco nap i...

Re: Clean scan. Oh wait...just kidding!

Just updating to say the MRI results came in last night and it's a hyperplasia thingy - so I have two liver things - a hyperplasia and a hemangioma. All this to say me and my lumpy liver live on! I will also say that I complained to the hospital about this situation, the hospital ombudsman picked up...

Re: what is the max tumor size to be deemed surgical?

I never thought size factored into it much, it was more a spread thing. If you have one "thing" and nothing else lurking around, they can usually cut it out - big or small. (Unless it's in a problem location, like leaning against an artery, etc) If you have a few things and it's spread out...

Re: Ok gang, need advice on chemo or not

hmmmm, so many good replies! This is why i love this Board. I'm really leaning towards no follow up chemo, but yes, as someone mentioned, I always have the option of waiting to see how the surgery goes and how confident my surgeon feels about the margins before i decide. Cheers! Rob This is exactly...

Re: Some questions before port install and first chemo treat

Overboard. The port installation is easy. The aftermath is not painful. The surgery itself is not painful. The only thing I would do with your home renos going on is find another place to stay - not because of your immune system, but because the noise and the smell of the new carpet may not be a goo...

Re: Melissa Bates - August 2012 Has Passed

Really sorry to hear this. I'm always sad to hear when one of the Colondar models passes away since I always turned to their stories when I was first diagnosed because they offered so much hope and they always look so happy. I just read her calendar page - what a shame to lose such a lovely young wo...
