Re: Ordering My Seeds--UPDATED With Pics

This will be the first time I've ever planted a garden, actual its going to be a community garden. We are even going to have chickens. My husband spent a small fortune building a condo coup. .. I just kept my mouth shut and let him have fun. The rules.....everything has to be organic. Now when we ev...

I'm bummed

Today, my dermatogist nurse called to say my melanoma has returned. I swear will we ever get a break from any cancer? it's bad enough dealing with stage four colon cancer but this is like a double edge sword. So I see another surgery coming at the beginning of May. I've had basal cell skin cancer fo...

Re: Food, nutrition, & activity challenges

At this time, eat whatever your body and mind is willing to eat. Once you are past treatment, then focus on what you should be eating for your health. During my treatment, I could only stomach refried beans. Other foods just turned my stomach resulting in me losing 40 lbs. I was so fatigued I never ...

Re: Energy nosedive

My energy always dropped after my pump was disconnected. It took about three days before I felt better. And then the cycle started all over again :?

Re: Scan Anxiety has hit! Also asking for opinions on treatment plan.

I understand your scan anxiety....I was DX stage 4, did all the resections and 6 months of chemo. So far I'm NED, with my next scan in June which would put me at my three year mark. I know that sooner or later, there will be a recurrance but there's nothing I can do about it. So I keep my mind and b...

Re: Medicare question

Just got home from an appointment with the insurance agent regarding my husbands Medicare supplements. Living in a very small town, he only had BCBS ( as a Medicare insurance) to offer us. Since we have BCBS medical insurance for the last 10 years, I declined them. They are the worst insurance compa...

Re: Neuropathy after chemo

I never had any problems during chemo but one week after finishing my neuropathy set in. It's been two years since finishing chemo and I still have it. I take gabapentin daily...it does not cure it but really helps the symptoms. I don't expect my neuropathy to go away....so I just deal with it.

Re: Medicare question

Thanks everyone for your replies.....I see it's going to be a nightmare getting good coverage since we are diagnosed with cancer. We have an appointment with a insurance guy for my husband. I'm going to ask about myself and my diagnose and see what coverage they won't allows. Vilca....I total...

Medicare question

For those of you who are now on Medicare.....my husband will be going on Medicare in July so we are looking into supplements plans. I had a friend who mention supplement plan F & G as a better coverage. I don't go on Medicare until December, but this got me thinking. Have you found that Medicare...

Re: Patty Duke: Actress Dies at Age 69 ruptured intestine

I also grew up with Patty Duke....being a teenager, I loved her show. Does anyone remember the movie "Billie" , which she played a tomboy who could run faster then the boys on the track team. The coach wanted her on the team to help the boys run faster. It was all about the "beat"...

Neuropathy

For those of you experiencing neuropathy....I would say about six month ago. I notice that when I drop my head to my chest I experience a "shock". I feel it in my right butt cheek, knee and foot...has anyone experience anything similar? Not sure if this is connected with my neuropathy.
