Re: Clear scans!

Rob - Great news! I'm so happy for you. :D I was wondering if your medical team is planning to create a Survivorship Care Plan for you. In the U.S., the NCCN encourages medical teams to develop a written "Survivorship Care Plan" for patients as they transition from active treatment to the ...

Re: Nomogram Predictive Tools--Are they accurate?

I am posting the information below so that we may more fully understand the colon cancer, Stage I to Stage III nomograms available on the MSK website: There are two colon cancer nomograms listed the MSK website, and I will call them MSK-nomogram and SEER-nomogram , respectively: ⋅  MSK-nom...

Re: Question About Indeterminate Pulmonary Nodules And Staging

Today, I am reading over my electronic medical folder and it says something about seeing 3 Indeterminate Pulmonary Nodules. I cannot find any definitive answers as to what that means as far as my staging goes. Does this mean I have spread to my lungs? Or, am I getting worked up over nothing? I have...

Re: cutting chemo before 6 infusions

...What did it "invade"? ... My T4b rectal tumor invaded the sigmoid colon, vas deferens, seminal vesical and one prostate lobe. ... I presume no recurrence? Why didn't you do more treatments? My oncologist refused to prescribe any more chemo beyond cycle 4 because of my poor overall heal...

Re: cutting chemo before 6 infusions

...Can anyone provide links to literature on the current thinking on the value of, say, 4 vs. 6 vs. 8 chemo cycles (particularly FOLFOX)? ...Thanks for any information/links anyone can provide -- I'm a voracious consumer of the stuff, but I just can't locate good material on this particular subject...

I had a large T4b invasive tumor and had only 4 cycles of Xelox adjuvant therapy. That was 6 years ago.

Re: cancer on peritoneum

Hi Aamir - From what you have said so far, it looks like your biomarker test results are: - MSI status = "MSS (microsatellite stable)" i.e., not MSI-high - KRAS/NRAS status = "KRAS wild-type" i.e., not KRAS/NRAS mutated Is that correct? Your current stage seems to be: Stage = &qu...

Re: People who know radiology Lung Lobe QUESTION

...It could be an error, could be something seen and not noted in the reports... Yes, this happens sometimes. On my 6th CT scan the radiologist commented on a spot and compared it to the same spot on the previous 5 scans. However, the previous 5 scans were done by 5 different radiologists and none ...

Re: Trying to Understand my Pathology Report

I'm surprised that your report didn't include BRAF/KRAS/MSS/MSI dMMR info on the tumor. You should ask for it ASAP. That basic level of testing should be standard of care for Stage 3. Yes, I agree. Since you are Stage 3c, you need to develop a long-range treatment strategy, and this requires biomar...
