Re: is this pain and pressure normal?

Moni, hope your pain goes away very soon. I'm going in tomorrow for urine test and having ct scan soon. Hopefully it is just uti and I can be put on correct meds. I really think if it weren't for this pain I would be pretty darn good. I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us

Re: is this pain and pressure normal?

Thanks everyone for your responses. I haven't had any tests at all, which I thought was weird. I just told my surgeon what was going on each time and she said "infection". I had appointments with my oncologist and radiation oncologist right after each of these incidents and each of them as...

is this pain and pressure normal?

I am 5 1/2 weeks out from l.a.r. and temporary loop ileostomy. I went back to work last week and it was pretty miserable. I have a desk job so nothing strenuous, but just getting there and sitting up all day wiped me out. I started having more mucas and discharge along with more pressure and felt li...

Re: I don't want radiation

Thank you all for your responses. I really appreciate all of your advice and sharing your experiences. I have an appointment in 2 weeks to discuss my treatment. My main concern is my rectum and local lymph nodes are gone so I don't understand the need. Obviously there is a need because it's standard...

I don't want radiation

I just had a lar with removal of the rectum on 6/18/14. I had 2 lymph nodes light up on my pet but since my rectal tumor was stage 1, I was told that I was probably being over treated with surgery. My. 4 hour surgery turned into 9 hours and a loop ileostomy... and yes, stage 3 cancer. The surgeon re...

Re: LAR??

Thank you both for your replies. Pog, my surgeon only said Robotic Assisted LAR and that she is removing the rectum. She actually went over everything with me, but it is now a blur. I was just afraid of having this surgery and then finding out it was for nothing. By reading everyone's posts and seei...

LAR??

Good morning. Is a LAR the only way to remove lymph nodes from around the rectum? I had a trans anal excision done in early April for what appeared to be a stage 1 rectal cancer. I had my initial appointment with my oncologist who sent for me a CT, just to get a base line. I had a lymph node that ap...
