Re: Hai pumps?

I know someone who just got an HAI pump installed at MSK a few weeks ago. He asked his onc about the pumps being discontinued. He was told MSK is continuing to offer them as a surgical option to patients. Good luck!

Re: Bev G

What?? Oh my gosh- I’m shocked. The last post I see on her FB page is on 8/10 asking for prayers for her. She was the first person to respond to me on the board five years ago. We had similar disease paths. Do you know what happened? I feel awful. My condolences to her family. Bev was an enormous su...

Re: Life ins. policy...critical illness rider

Good for you for finding out! I bought a big term policy in my early 30s back when I was a single mom with my eldest son. Then, I was diagnosed with stage 10 years later. I put the policy up for sale as a viatical sale through a broker, and some hedge funds bid on it. I sold it for 65% of face value...

Video and other stuff :)

Hi everyone, I’m not on here too much anymore. I recently gave a speech at a fundraiser for Camp Kesem at Stony Brook University where I mentioned this wonderful forum (and Belle in particular). Have look if you’d like. Camp Kesem is a free camp for kids ages 6-16 who have a parent affected by cance...

Re: Stage 4a, chemo to start after removal of partial colon+liver met.

Good luck to your dad. I hope he handles the chemo well. I also had my colon and liver surgery before chemo. I did 12 rounds of FOLFOX after my liver resection. You can see by my signature I have been NED since 2013. I am not MSI high, so immunology was never discussed. My marker went up initially a...

Re: Scans all normal/ NED 9 yrs post dx, etc. Stage IVa

Great news. I've been thinking about you, hoping everything was okay. I recently had a scare too: a PET with uptake in the caudate lobe of the liver. I subsequently had an abdominal surgery, and along with removing a ton of scar tissue, my surgeon also took a look at my liver, did a biopsy, and it a...

Re: PREP GETS HARDER TO TOLERATE

I'm sorry to hear the prep made you so sick. Which one was it? If you use Prepopik, it's very little to drink. I have refused to drink any of the "litely" preps because they nauseate me.

Hope everything was good with your colonoscopy.

Post CT scan pains

Hello, friends. I've been having some issues with scar tissue, so I had a recent CT scan. I didn't get contrast through an IV, but I did drink a solution before the scan. At my regular hospital where I get my scans, the drink is a thick, berry-flavored drink, and I tolerate it fine. This one was cle...

Re: Rant - colon vs rectal cancer

I once had a terminology incident with someone when she admonished me for saying I had colon cancer and not "colorectal cancer." I use the term colorectal when I'm speaking in general, but I say colon cancer when I'm speaking of my specific case. Her point was that people don't want to say...

Aw, seeing this post pop up made me smile, thinking of Kenny and his "Come to think of it, I've never seen a rabbit in the infusion center" comment way back when.

Re: Life Insurance Accelerated Death Benefit Rider

I did a viatical settlement with one of my term policies. If you'd like to discuss it feel free to PM me. I had a letter from my onc that outlined life expectancy in a general way. If I outlive the term, I'm going to have a big party.
