I was diagnosed with Cll after routine blood work almost 2 years ago (not caused by chemo) My Hemoglobin is also very low and my hemo/onc feels that I have MDS was possibly caused by radiation and chemo. My hemoglobin is 9.9 refractory anemia which does...

Re: Info re: Pico Salax

I'm impressed with the Pico Salax company. I e-mailed for information and received a phone call within 2 hours. Unfortunately I wasn't home to speak to the pharmaceutical rep, she left me a message to return her call to-morrow. What I want to know: is Pico Salax "safe" for patients who hav...

Re: anyone have kidney problems from chemo or radiation

Hi Liz I went to my Oncologist and she said "You should see a kidney specialist", my hemotologist says "You should see a kidney specialist", my GP (family doc) says "You should see a kidney specialist" and now when I went for my CT scan to-day my GFR is at 23 and the CT...

Re: anyone have kidney problems from chemo or radiation

I am experiencing kidney problems. My creatinine level was steady at 118 (slightly elevated) until last year when it took a big dive and is now at 180. Recently my hemoglobin went to a low of 8.8 with a diagnosis of MDS (refractory anemia ) which can be caused by Radiation and Chemo. I'm one of the ...

Re: what are the odds of getting cancer?

Pearl girl: I didn't have any symptoms. During a routine visit with my primary care Doc last year it was noted that I had an elevated white cell count. Sent to a hemo/oncologist and diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic leukemia. Went to my hemo/oncologist on 7th August and it was noted that I was very...

Re: what are the odds of getting cancer?

I'm an "overachiever".......Colonrectal cancer stage III. . I was given a diagnosis of Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia (not Chemo induced) but now I am very anemic and Hemotologist/Oncologist is testing for a much more aggressive Leukemia caused by Radiation/Chemo used in treatment of Colonrect...

Re: how do you explain to others?

We went to Mexico for 2 weeks (shared a condo) with good friends. Fortunately friend was a nurse and she is of the "been there, seen that, done that attitude" so my frequent bathroom visits didn't need to be explained. I still have "accidents" but I always carry a spare pair of u...

Ivona: I think you have hit on something :D 2 years ago we had fresh squeezed orange juice every morning when we were in Florida and my HGB was on the low side but not extremely low. Last year was a terrible year for oranges (frost in Florida) and we sort of "forgot" about the our daily ri...
