Re: Oxali, something in your throat

Yes! I'd get that awful "pill in the throat" feeling for a few days every treatment. It made the nausea that much worse, because it made me quick to gag.

Re: Neulasta needed even if WBC are high?

My bloodwork results after my first chemo treatment showed low WBC. After that, I received nuelasta or nuprogen (sp?) after every treatment. First I took the one that needed 2 shots in 2 visits, but then due to my associative nausea (nausea, vomiting and/or dry-heaving when I just pulled into the pa...

Re: CT scan with or without contrast?

Thank you all so much for your replies. I just spoke with my MSK doc's office and was told that the chest CT was ordered only because of the lung findings from my previous PET. Was told that I didn't need contrast with chest CT. Was told that if my local hadn't ordered me the PET, they would have se...

CT scan with or without contrast?

Hi all.... I read this forum nearly everyday and have learned so much from all of you that has helped me. I have a CT scan coming up in May. I have been under the care of an oncologist at MSK but see a local oncologist for treatment. When I finished my 6 months on Folfox in Feb, my local onc sent me...

carcinoid tumor

A friend just had a colonoscopy (mid-40s). Six polyps were removed from the rectal area and one of them was called a carcinoid tumor. She's freaking a bit, and I am worried too. I've been researching for her and learned that carcinoid tumors were very slow growing and usually cured by polypectomy. H...

Exercise after Chemo? Too much, too fast?

Hi..I just finished my chemo treatments and just has a clear PET. Before I was diagnosed, I ran 3-4 miles almost every day. During chemo...not so much! After stopping the oxiliplatin (due to allergic reaction), the 5-FU was so much easier on me that I started walking about 20 minutes a day on my off...

Re: Newbie - Chemo/Radiation due to start on Monday

Hi! You start tomorrow, and tomorrow is my last chemo treatment. I, too, am a 42 yr old Stage 3 mom (kids 16, 15, 12 & 8) (no family history, no risk factors). I had surgery at the end of July and started treatment the first week of Sept. I had 8 folfox treatments, and then after a bad allergic ...

Re: How many of you know your Oxaliplatin dose..questions

Hi again...I am new to this site, and don't know how to list the details of my dx, like you have on your question. I am stage 3b, 42 years old, diagnosed in June 2008 (5 of 16 lymph nodes). I had surgery at the end of July and started folfox on the day after Labor Day. I am a patient at MSK, but rec...

Re: How many of you know your Oxaliplatin dose..questions

Hi...I also have had a hard time with this drug, all the same symptoms you have described. During my 7th treatment, I had an allergic reaction....really red face and difficulty breathing. They unhooked me right away and shot me with benedryl. After some discussion, they hooked me up again at a slowe...
