Re: mCRC STAGE IV OR RECURRENT PATIENTS thread - ONGOING

I got my Pet scan results today. Nothing to surprising, more mets in my lungs, a 2.5 cm nodule in my maxillary antra. ( that is somewhere in my head, I have no idea where ). I also had a few nodules pop up here and there in various places. The only one I am curious about is the one in my head. Can ...

Re: DCVax-Direct: First Case Study Announced

Maia, I am highly needle-phobic. Can't stand to look at one. I had a needle biopsy on one breast years ago that was just a cyst, but haven't needed anything since then. I'm not sure I could describe the location of the various lung nodules I have, but I would think at least some of them would be di...

Re: News on the 'other' anti PD-L1: Nivolumab. Immunotherapy

Isn't Nivolumab an anti-PD-1 antibody? PD-1 is the cell surface receptor while PD-L1 is the ligand. Binding of the 2 sends activation/inhibition signals that is theorized to allow cancer cells to escape the body's immune system. From a mechanism of action standpoint, I think anti-PD-L1 antibodies wo...

For those interested, an update was posted a few weeks ago in regard to the Phase I trial status. They are now hoping the trial would begin in Summer/Early Fall of this year. Although response was observed in a wide variety of cancer types (including solid tumors) in animal models using this anti-CD...

Re: Returned after 6 months

What to expect? Was diagnosed with Colon cancer early 2013. Had surgery to remove tumor, then started my long chemo treatment with some radiation in the middle. I completed my final chemo session in Sept 2013. I just had a 6 month follow up scan and it seems it has metastasis in both of my lungs. S...

Re: New development about dichloroacetate (DCA)

It sounds like the experiments they have done so far are still in vitro, so I would expect any clinical trial using this newly created compound base on DCA to be at least a few years away.

Regorafenib+ATK inhibitors possible effective CRC treatment

I found the below paper to be very interesting and has real potential to be applied in the more effective treatment of CRC as the agents in the study work synergistically in a greater than additive fashion. Note-worthy quote: In vivo PX-866 / MK2206 and sorafenib / regorafenib cooperated to kill hep...
