Re: Does CEA go up during chemo?

My wife CA19-9 increased to 35 after 2nd infusion of 5FU + Oxi in February 2011. it's less than 8 after that. So , i suppose yes, it can increase with chemo.

Re: Increase in CEA Should we worry

Your wife CEA is following exactly my wife's trend. After fininshing chemo It was <0.5 in August 2011, 0.79 in Dec, 1.45 in March and I was so worried like you. But many people on this wonderful forum suggested NOT to worry about these small changes. The good news is This time around in June it reco...

Hi Livelife, Thanks for posting. How is it going? I checked your blog, it sounds interesting. I have a few questions. why you choose Herzog clinin over SPDT in china? Re: For Stage III's: NED for how long now?

5 years this month since dx. His onc. said he doesn't need to see him anymore, recommended just regular visits once a year, physical checkups with his family doctor. No more CT scans, last one he had a 1.5 year ago. Once a year CEA test just in case ( recurrence very slim possibility).Isn't life be...

Re: Tell me stories about lung masses that were nothing

Traveller 001, My sister had / has a mass in her lungs 3 months ago. That looked very suspecious in chest X-ray. she is just 30. The Doctor said if she was 60-70, she would 100% say its cancer.CT and biopsy was ordered and it was confirmed that she has TB. The TB was a blessing for us.... hopefully ...

Re: Recurrence with Normal Blood work???

Brownbagger is 100% right. Also being in so many countries exposes you to so many things. I'm no sure what body parts were CAT scaned , but no Gastro MD is going to evaluate a lung scan and questionable pelvic scan. Can you ask for the reports to take to the Oncologist ? ALso call gastro and find o...
