Just wanted to let you know that you will get excellent care a MDA. We have been going back and forth from there for almost 4 years now and I can't say enough good about them. If you have any question in regards to MDA feel free to send me an e-mail.
My husbands cea on one occasion went from 3.1to 5.7. Pet scan the next day didn't show anything. He has been, thanks to God, NED ever since. I hope the same will be the case with you. There is always hope. It's good you don't have to wait long for a scan. Waiting is a killer!
We don't live near a major cancer center either. When my husband was diagnosed with colon cancer we traveled to MD Anderson cancer center in Houston Texas. I think their rated #1 in cancer treatment and research. We are very happy with the care we get their. They are great! I have also heard many go...
I agree that second opinions are great. A second opinion is not only to discuss treatments options, which are most of the time standard, but they will do their own scans and pathology on the tumor and nodes ect. that were removed from you. They will do their own staging. They may see something on a ...
Why don't they repeat your cea in about a month and see what it is? My husband was also a stage 2 and his cea's range from 2.4 to 3.2. They go up and down all the time. He has had three in a row that have increased slightly, and then it would come back down. It's nerve racking at first, but then you...
Hello, My husband who was 52years old at the time had his cecum removed along with 15 inches of his colon and his appendix. The actual cancer mass was in his cecum. He is over 3 and a half years out of surgery and has some problems with loose stools, but not that bad. He just takes some over the cou...
Hello, I feel like I can relate to your situation. My husband is the one with cancer and he is also NED so far. Three months ago he lost his job. His company went out of business. We also have our oldest in college. I also don't like to stand around and cry about things, but I feel like weve been de...
We travel to a major cancer center, MDA. Our oncologist there always spend at least 45 minuites with us. We have never felt rushed and he answers out questions completely. He and MDA have been great ot us so far!
So happy for you and your family! My oldest son also graduated from high school this year. All of his school ceremonies are tomorrow. I to am very grateful that my husband who was DX with cc in February of 2011 is well and NED so far and able to see all of this.
We travel to MD Anderson to see out oncologist there. He calls all the shots and does all the scans, x-rays ect. The only thing our local oncologist here in Kansas does is actually giving the treatments and blood work before each treatment. We have had situations where they differ in opinion on cert...
My husband takes asprine daily since his last treatment. His oncologist at MD Anderson cancer center told him to. He said you only need to take one baby asprine (81mg) a day to get the benefit. Along with that we try to eat a healthy diet and get some exercise. We did do some other supplements in th...
we've been in remission for a little over three years now, and we , my husband and I, still freak out with every check up. My sister was diagnosed over 20 years ago with cancer and she still gets a check and scan every year. Even after 20 years she said she still has anxiety attacks before each chec...
My husband also got one of these strange bumps on his thumb joint. We showed it to our oncologist at MDA on his last visit. He said not to worry about it, it's not cancer. He said arthritis.
