Re: Upcoming Scans

...Is there anything else any of you would also push for to keep this nasty beast at bay? In the first 2 years post-treatment, I would push for an emphasis on healthy living, in particular the three pillars of survivorship: (1) exercise, (2) diet, and (3) stress reduction. These are the main tools ...

Re: Larry has an eviction date!!!

Such good news! I remember way back when you moved and got new doctors. You've been through a lot, but it was all worth it. I'll be thinking of you and waiting for your update in October. Love to you and Bean.

Re: Any Chemo Lifers? Incurable Stage 4

Hi! I'm supposedly incurable with multiple, scattered lung mets. Folfiri was starting to fail so now I'm back to Folfox, which I had after original colon resection. To date I've had 40+ chemo treatments. You are amazing at 70+. It's as emotionally draining as it is physically, but every day I'm wit...

Re: Lung cancer spots ... Chemo for life?

How many lung mets does your mom have? I think it would be a good idea to get a 2nd opinion. Most people seem to do fine with the pill Xeloda. I wasn't one of them. I felt really terrible. I have the pump now and it is better.

Re: Lung Met = half year life?

My mum is a current stage 4 rectal cancer patient. You can see my signature for what she has gone through. There are diffuse multiple lung mets and we are extremely worried. My nurse friend told me today that stage 4 lung Mets means half year of life. Never feel more desperate. Please do tell me th...

Re: Chemo Ports

DH has a lot of trouble with ports. He had one installed that never worked right. The replaced it with a power port. It worked great for about six months. Now, they can't get bloody return from it. Anyone else have port problems? I had a fibrin sheath build up at the end of the catheter. They would...

Re: Proton Therapy for Liver Metastasis from Stage 4 Colon Cancer

What would be the process I should do in order to be referred from Emory in Atlanta to MD Anderson for proton therapy? Emory Winship will not have their new machine in operation until late 2018. I have been dx with another recurrence to my para aortic verge involves 50% of the iliac artery again. A...
