Re: Bad CT Scan

I don't think that's horrible news, Jim. What happened with the lymph node they had been talking about before? Six mets may be able to be removed by SBRT. They may not grow which would mean that they're possibly not cancer.(except that one) There are many possibilities. Was the oncologist hopeful? ...

Re: Bad CT Scan

Great philosophy, Jim! Stay strong and stay aggressive. You have to be your own advocate if you're a Stage IV patient. I believe that not having hope is an insult to God. Let us know when they come up with a treatment plan. Sending prayers, as always. Juiliej Thank you Julie - met yesterday with cu...

Thanks LPL - we say "play it where it lies," and it is certainly true, and it does make sense. Thank you :)

Re: Bad CT Scan

Jim, I am new to the 4Club too, and so far they seem to be the best, most caring, loving people in the world. I am sorry about your diagnosis, but we have this great group of 4'ers that will be around to help, advise, commiserate, and maybe get a smile out of you too. Hi Marejenny - thank you. I'm ...

Re: Bad CT Scan

Jim: I'm sorry you have to join us in the Stage IV club, but there are many long-timers here, as you have noted. You have a wonderful sense of calm and logical thinking. I find that doing research and staying on top of/consulting about trials and new treatments helps give me a sense of control when...

Re: Bad CT Scan

Sorry you're joining us Stage IVrs :( Fingers crossed along with prayers. I'm sure your treatment plan will be aggressive and will get rid of the #4 stuff. ox Thank you Pita - I'm a big fan of prayers myself. I'm going to approach this as confidently as I can, and keep moving forward. I can't reall...

Re: Bad CT Scan

Damn, didn't want to hear that. Thanks Sally - I was hoping not to hear it myself (but then, I suppose none of us were hoping to be here). I propose we all do everything we can to win, and then tell stories about how we did it. That's all the planning I've been able to do since I found out, ...

Re: Bad CT Scan

Jim, any news on the biopsy results? I totally agree with you about "twilight" anesthesia needing a new name. Some people call it "conscious sedation" instead, which sounds sinister to me. You were tough handling it with no anesthesia though! I"m glad you signed up for the ...

Re: Interpretation Question

I want to add that over 90% of us are MSS. MSI are the lucky few, but also more likely to have lynch, as I understand, so there are pros and cons. Although Immunotherapy doesn't work as well for those who are MSS, since we are the vast majority, they are working very hard to figure out how to make ...

Re: Stage IV 6 years NED

Clean scan. Just letting stage IV folks know that there is hope out there for long term NED status and hopefully cure. I feel that I've overcome this challenge, but part of me will be happier when I'm 10 years out! Peace and love to all. Al - biopsy on possible lung mets yesterday; results next wee...

While I am glad it's not worse it is something unexpected

Although I can't say I'm glad to hear she has E. Coli, I can say I'm very glad to hear it's not a second strike. God bless and have a great weekend.
