Way Way Way off topic but

Hi Guys As some of you may recall I moved house to an old terrace in NOV 2018 (130 year old long & narrow old brick house where the walls on the sides are connected to the neighbours house). I found some flying ants as I called them in DEC 2018 and got the pest control guys out to look at the pl...

Re: 7 Year cancerversary

HI Julie I run with Mrs Kiwi and I guess it depends a bit on what she wants to do this year. We did 3 marathons last year, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland. Sydney & Auckland are fun as you run over the car only bridge (which they close to cars of course) at the start of the run so that keeps you ...

Re: Lung recurrence update- good news

Hi Beccashocked, I'm new to this board - looks like I'll need a lobectomy for a central left lower lobe nodule. Which lobe did you have removed if I may ask? I've heard that lower lobe resections may have more impact on lung function than upper lobectomy because of greater oxygen transfer in lower ...

Re: A Toast to 2020!

Great toast Julie, this will be 10 years right, and I bet you thought you would never see this time.
Super stoked to be able to read this and share it with you, and I'll certainly have a toast to you!

Re: 7 Year cancerversary

Hi Julie I just logged back on and noticed you are a competitive runner. What sort of running do you do? What do you focus on? What sort of training plans do you use? Do you have a running coach, or do it yourself? Garmin, Suunto? I have lots of questions. Run solo, groups? 2019 was not a good year ...

Re: 7 Year cancerversary

Hi Julie I've moved a couple of times over the past few years so I don't have a gym in the apartment complex I live in as I now live in a terrace. I don't have a garage but I have a car port which is supposed to fit two cars but I have a very narrow lane way with a 90 degree kink it in so I have to ...

Re: 7 Year cancerversary

Hi Jacques I think I used exercise as a way of getting rid of stress and as a way of punishing my body for "deceiving me". If I could push my body, then not only would there be positive changes in my body, but according to a number of studies I read, it would possibly give you a greater ch...

7 Year cancerversary

Hi All There seems to have been a recent wave of these so I thought I'd continue to trend. 7 years ago today I woke up from a colonoscopy to hear the words "you have cancer". This was followed up the next day with a CT Scan where I found out that I was stage IV with a lesion on my lung at ...

Re: Freaking out of my mind...CEA climb and specks on lungs

Hi Punky, Seems like pretty good news all around after reading this. 2. Stable tiny bilateral pulmonary nodules without significant FDG uptake, though possibly below PET resolution. 3. No evident recurrence/metastasis. Pulmonary nodes without significant FDG uptake & no evidence of recurrence. D...

Hi Skifletch
Good to hear from you and thanks for posting. You, along with Brownbagger, were sources of hope and inspiration when I needed it the most.
Appreciate you coming back on to continue to give hope.
Cheers dude.

Exercise

https://www.runnersworld.com/news/a29412199/exercise-prevents-heart-damage-during-chemotherapy/ OK, for those of you who remember me exercise was always a topic close to my heart. Talking of which I thought this article summed up the reasons, or at least some of them, that I run and did a lot more ...

Re: More chemo after a solitary lung met?

I think the question is more why did you have a recurrence? If it is due to some cancer cells that seeded in your and started a slow growing lung met then chemo is probably not going to assist a lot as the VATS would have dealt with the cancer. Are they any more cancer cells floating that could also...

Re: Thoughts on Stage IV...

I took the view early on that it was all or nothing. 100% or 0%, or as CR Guys puts in N=1. You can do things to make yourself feel better about it, but you can't really do anything to change the outcome. You can only change how you deal with that and I tried to live my life with as much fun as I co...

Simply put, his presence here is sorely missed. He left an indelible mark on those that came into contact with him, including me, and I wish he was still around.
Keep riding Eric
