Re: Surgery scheduled, clinical study for Lifeseal, questions about recovery

[quote="retiredteacher"]Susan, congratulations on a successful journey! I am about three weeks behind you, anticipate Stanford surgery Feb. 20. Have been following your story and it has been very helpful - although I do feel like I am cheating someone's homework over their shoulder, as you...

Re: Single and dealing

Single and dealing I totally agree with lovoving life's statement below and others you gave you similar advice. 1. I learned to accept help and realized it is a gift to others in some way. They either feel good about helping someone they care - they can finally do something for you other than feelin...

Re: Surgery scheduled, clinical study for Lifeseal, questions about recovery

Thank you Mio. I will print the report, highlight these parts for my appointment on Thursday. I see everyone, stoma nurse, surgeon and oncologist.
Thank you for all your wisdom.

Re: Back in the fight

Macpuud, One of my friends grows cannabis for medical use. He sells to legal manufacturers. He mentioned something called Rick Simpson oil to me but it didn't seem relevant to me. You might check it out. I ended up using some charlottes web for pain after radiation, also used Tylenol. Don't know wha...

Re: Worried Wife-Please Help Me

Tricia,
Mine dropped to 7. It's took me three months of eating well, trying iron supplements in many forms. But I had been bleeding probably from either colitis or tumor. The only supplement I could tolerate was Floradix. A vegetable based tablet.

Consider the suprep for colonoscopy. Much less awful stuff to drink, drink it very good.

Re: Surgery scheduled, clinical study for Lifeseal, questions about recovery

I have the full report on Stanford's portal. What did I miss? Checked out comfy clothing site, will be making an order. It's so warm right now all I want to do is sit in sun or garden. Good time for laying low, did get in 3000 steps. Had two mishaps yesterday. Poked a tiny hole in bag when cutting, ...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

Mike,
I have been able to get my Xeloda at the hospital pharmacy. We only have one oncologist, rural hospital. They ordered it for me and I pick it up at my appointments.

Re: Questions about recovery from surgery

About your pathology report -- Have they said when you will receive a copy? Will you be given a copy after you have gone home? If so, will you have the copy early enough so that you have time to review it before your next meeting with your doctor? Pathology report back. trying to decipher Sigmoid co...

Re: Surgery scheduled, clinical study for Lifeseal, questions about recovery

W[quote="Robino1"]After I had my resection (years ago) I slept in the guest bedroom and 'cradled' my body with pillows all around me to help keep in a comfortable position, once I found one. I'm a side sleeper so I had a pillow to cushion my belly and one at my back that I could slightly b...

Call your doctor and get it checked out. Probably nothing but worrying can kill you.

Re: Fatique etc

Little meals, calorie rich. Avocado toast. Whole fat yogurt smoothies. Use cream in mashed potatoes. Keep something to snack on with you all the time. Does the food taste strange or just no appetite?
Take care

Susan
