Re: I'm terrified.

"ditto" on the prepopik ... The prep is the worst part of a colonoscopy & the proceedure itself is usually a breeze. It can be helpful to have someone with you in the recovery room when they come back to tell you your results as you are likely to still be a bit groggy from the anethesi...

Re: New and scared

Try & stay positive!

You know how they say, "don't count your chickens before they hatch"?

Well that goes for the possible bad as well as the possible good.

So don't count your "bad news" chickens before they hatch!

Have courage & hope for the best outcome!

Re: How would you respond?

Hopefully I would give her the most charitable interpretation, which is she puts your "stage 4" out of her mind because she wants to be free to hope the best for you so she'd like to remain a bit hazy about the "stage 4' stuff but she is logical enough to know she should be accurate w...

Re: neuropathic joint pain

I believe my joint pain has been helped by taking Kirkland's Glucosamine HCL 1500mg with MSM 1500mg.
Big (3/4") tablet though.

Re: Folfox and cognitive impairment

I have a suggestion for anyone wishing to try something to ameliorate their 5FU induced cognitive impairment - try bulletproof coffee which is coffee + butter + (optionally) MCT oil or coconut oil. My chemo ended Feb 2011 and all I know is I have experienced a fairly dramatic lifting of my chemo bra...

Re: Calling hospice tomorrow

You may already know this but some doctors prescribe morphine drops as an aid to the body in low oxygen states. In addition it lowers anxiety. It was prescribed for my father-in-law who was on oxygen during his in-home hospice care and seemed to me to comfort him. Here's a link if you care to look a...

Re: Experience Personality Change on Chemo

You can ask your oncologist about reducing the amount of steroids given, which is what I did specifically to avoid "roid-rage". Steroids are given to enhance the effectiveness of the anti-emetics, but I reduced my my steroid dose significantly with no loss of anti-emetic effectiveness. At ...

Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY - ALL CC WITH JULY BIRTHDAYS

I'll happily take some birthday wishes July 30th!

I'm turning the age I originally heard about 47 years ago when for the first time I listened to my brand new copy of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band!
Couldn't really imagine it at the time. ha!

Congrats on #6! Loveliest of Trees by A.E. Houseman Loveliest of trees, the cherry now Is hung with bloom along the bough, And stands about the woodland ride Wearing white for Eastertide. Now, of my three score years and ten, Twenty will not come again, And take from seventy springs a score, It only...
