Re: Coffee...yes or no?

Prior to my right hemicolectomy I had no clue that coffee had laxative effect. Then after my surgery it took me a while to figure this out. Unfortunately this effect is rather strong in my case. When I go to the office I need a few cups of coffee through the day, that would result to a few trips to ...

Cured, do you understand that often such decisions by jury contradict established scientific facts?
I prefer one meta-study article in a mainstream peer reviewed journal over 10 decisions of US juries.

... colonoscopy ... was extremely painful, so much so I screamed out ... (I was prepared for being 'uncomfortable' due to the air but not actual physical pain) which now has me a little anxious about the next part with sigmoidoscopy etc, and I've had numerous procedures and major operations over th...

Re: Sadness (sorry for the blues)

I ... just keep thinking about my mom and my little brother who passed away in a car accident 32 years ago... Tonight I asked my father why couldn't I just go with them... Why didn't we all just die and stop this suffering... brokenwings , It's OK to be said. It's OK to be depressed. It's OK to be ...

Re: High Dose Vitamin C Questions

Vitamine C is water soluble and rather harmless. It doesn't accumulate in your body and its excess is excreted by your kidneys. Quite a few people (including me) acted as guinea pigs consuming a lot of vitamin C to validate hypothesis of Linus Pauling that vitamin C is effective against common cold....

Re: ESD (Endoscopic submucosal dissection) Anyone??

Sometimes life is not that simple. First I got my "polyp" removed through colonoscopy (I was out of work for a day without any noticeable aftereffect). Then I got laparoscopic hemicolectomy because margins were not clear enough (I was out of work for 5 weeks with all expected consequences ...

I just noticed your signature. It looks incomplete My signature already reached maximum allowed size of 512 bytes. A lot of funny stuff discovered by CT scans in liver, kidney, lungs, arteries, gallbladder and a lymph node Funny stuff in the 6/2017 CT but no follow up? No MRI? No PET? Again, I ran ...

Re: Update on supplements with some history

mpbser, you seem very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about different supplements.
What do you think about shiitake extract?

My wife is very enthusiastic about it because her friend told her.
To save my energy I just take whatever my wife gives me.
Resistance is futile. :(

In a similar circumstances I had a follow up scan in 3 month (low dose chest only) and then my regular yearly full body scan. TacoLover, how old are you?

Anyway, diet is overrated and its change would not have an immediate impact on a risk of getting a cancer.

My doctor told me that the best US hospitals are better than the best Canadian hospitals.
So Boston, Cleveland or NY should be better. :(
