Re: update

I continue with radiation treatment. I am on treatment 12. Pain has still been an issue. We have added more prednisone in and upped the pain patch. I am using Ambien to help me sleep. I have slept about 4 hours each night for the past two nights. They were hoping by this time the radiation would hel...

Re: Just one more CEA question

Kenny, I usually have run a normal cea level even with active cancer. Below 1 or at 1. This time I had a cea of 216 and then 237 two days later. Big jump for me It had spread to the tailbone in my spine. Positive for bone metastasis. No more saying that cea does not predict cancer for me I am bummed...

update

I continue taking radiation treatments. I am on treatment 8, with a total of 15 scheduled. I still have paralysis in the left buttock area and trouble with peeing and pooping. They are continuing to hope that the radiation will solve this for me. I think I could tell a difference with this last rad ...

During that time I have experienced the love of my family, friends, coworkers and community that I would not have before. People ...

Re: Spinal mets question

We absolutely know that I have spinal met. I have had a CT, bone biopsy of the sacral area. I have increasing pain each day and have started radiation for the pain. I have 15 treatments scheduled and have taken 3 already. My CEA is elevated at 237. Pain is the big indicator also. I just wondered if ...

Re: mCRC STAGE IV OR RECURRENT PATIENTS thread - ONGOING

I saw the radiation oncologist yesterday and we begin radiation today. I will have 3 weeks of radiation (15) treatments for pain relief. Might be more, might be less is how they quoted it to me. The tumor is pressing in on the nerves that control bladder and bowel function. I am to start (which I al...

Re: mCRC STAGE IV OR RECURRENT PATIENTS thread - ONGOING

Thanks girls (Pollo/Skypup). I am having issues now with not being able to pass stool from my partially paralyzed bottom. They have me on laxatives and stool softners but I do not get the power behind the push. I just expel some weak air when I can muster it up. I see the radiation oncologist today ...

Re: mCRC STAGE IV OR RECURRENT PATIENTS thread - ONGOING

Hello fellow travelers, I have been awake for hours icing down my lower back trying to get pain in a better place. I now have met/mets in my spine. I will know more as we see doctors this week. I was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday with pain to my tailbone that had increased over the last 5 we...

Hospitilazation and cancer is back

Hi friends on CC. Have been busy for the last few months taking care of elderly, sick, in-laws. We are still trying to get their affairs in order when I started having numbness in my left buttock and pain down my leg. I attributed it to long hours spent sitting in hospital chairs, excetera. It got s...

I have been sick off and on since December, so we are going to scan early. We had planned to do a scan in ...
