Re: Starting Treatment soon-have some ?

My experience with the folfox is Monday chemo, Tuesday tired as the day goes on. Wednesday pump disconnect but feel pretty good. Thursday during day ok start dragging that evening and usually stomach issues start. Friday kind of slow moving and stomach issues continue. Saturday start to feel decent ...

Re: granix extreme bone pain

Doc gives me neulesta. I didn't even know about a shot option until doc brought it up when my counts were low. But he checked and said I'm not approved for it but I am for the neulesta. They put it on the day of pump disconnect and it autoinjects the next day. I've been fortunate when I've gotten it...

Re: When did you get your first scan after starting chemo?

After I started chemo my first scan was about 2 1/2 months in. Doc says about every 3 months here on out unless something changes.

Re: Question about chemo and blood work

Thanks for the responses.
I was able to get my treatment today with the week off.
I will be getting the neulasta at pump disconnect Wednesday.

Did get some good news that my cea dropped again to 7.6 from a high of 103 the first of April.

Re: So many questions

I'm new to all of this also. Diagnosed in March started treatment the first of April. Like your wife I have rectal cancer with 2 liver mets. The liver mets started out between 2-3 cm. I'm also on Folfox and avastin. The avastin was started on treatment 5 due to my rectal tumor bleeding. Had my first...

Question about chemo and blood work

I was supposed to have had my 8th treatment this last Tuesday. My blood work came back with low wbc and something else low. So Doc told me we I needed to wait a week for chemo. I was initially concerned about not having the chemo. He reassured me since my cea has dropped so much and a good scan to n...

Re: I need a little hope

I was where you are in March. Diagnosed with stage 4 rectal cancer with 2 liver mets. The first month running around seeing doctors and starting chemo and the total unknown sucks beyond any description. But once you and your wife start to get answers and you get into a routine with chemo and knowing...

Re: Started back to work

At first most of the guys didn't know what to say or how to act. I told them to act just like we did before diagnosis and I'm fine with answering any questions. The first thing I told them is don't feel sorry for me. I've been fortunate with my reaction to the chemo. The worst thing for me is fatigu...

Started back to work

This last week I started back and it felt great. I was able to work my 4 10's all week. It felt great to be tired from doing something than laying around the house all day. Next week will probably be a bit more challenge since it's chemo week. I want to brag a little bit about how great my employer ...

Re: What to expect?

I've only been diagnosed since the first of March so I don't have a lot experience. For me so far the waiting part for the first scan and seeing the oncologist the first time. Since I've gotten into of a routine of treatment and see the doc on a regular schedule my emotional feeling is a lot better....

Is it ok to share good reports while getting chemo treatment

I got good news from my first scan since treatment was started. What I'm wondering is when you are sitting in there getting chemo and chit chatting with everyone do you share that news? I do want to share my good news if it's ok. This Tuesday I got the results from my first scan since treatment was ...

New to the cancer deal

Got a question about when you come off chemo. Do any of y'all have a problem for a day or two getting your digestive system back going? If you do what have y'all found that helps. Doc has me on a chemo they give at the cancer institute that I don't no the name of but it causes the fingers and toes t...
