Re: Polys again, IBS, cancer??

Well, 2 weeks later I'm still having these symptoms, so I'm assuming I don't have a virus. I called my GI doctor's office for an appt. with him but he couldn't see me until August (good doctor, very busy), so I will be seeing his nurse practitioner in June. I was due for another colonoscopy in Decem...

Re: Polys again, IBS, cancer??

Thanks for your replies... Yes, I agree, if the symptoms continue I guess I will be booking an appt. with my GI doctor. I am scheduled for my next colonoscopy this December (talked him in to doing it a year early because of the type of polyp I had)... I was just wondering if anyone had experienced a...

Polys again, IBS, cancer??

I am 35/F. In 2014 I was seeing blood/mucous in my stool that had been going on around 6 months to a year. I saw a GI specialist about it, and he performed a colonoscopy on me. During the procedure he found a 1.2 cm tubulovillous adenoma polyp in my sigmoid colon, & internal hemorrhoids which he...

Re: Adenomas every time - 32 yrs old

One uncle (dad's side) had some polyps removed well into his 50s. My grandma (dad's side) also had some, also at an advanced age. My dad and most of his ten siblings got scopes after their brothers' were found. I know my dad's scope came back clear, not sure about his siblings. There is no known hi...

Re: Adenomas every time - 32 yrs old

I am 35/F. I had my first colonoscopy last year at 34, due to blood & mucous in stool. I had a 1.2 cm tubulovillous adenoma removed. That was the only polyp the GI said he found, and it was fortunately benign. I have to go back to get scoped again in December. Even though adenoma polyps in our a...

Re: I'm panicking. Point me in the right direction please.

Sorry you're going through this. I would get a colonoscopy stat, just to make sure everything is ok & for peace of mind. I'm 35/F. I was having blood and mucous in stool last year which I thought were hemorrhoids due to a previous childbirth. I had been seeing it on and off for a couple of years...

Re: Multiple Polyps Removed at 25

Hi, Lynch syndrome is an inherited disorder where young adults develop polyps & colon cancer at a young age. Lynch syndrome can also put you at risk for other types of cancers. There is a blood test that can be done to check for it. When someone presents with an adenoma at a young age, GI doctor...

Re: First Colonoscopy this Friday - description of symptoms - nervous!

You could push for an earlier one, butt that would be entirely up to you and your GI doctor. My GI doctor removed a 1.2 cm tubulovillous adenoma polyp in me last year at age 34. It was benign, but since rare in the 20s/30s age group, I pushed him to do it earlier. I'm supposed to have it done this D...

I am 35/F. I was having blood and mucous in my stool for about a year and a half, so I saw a GI doctor about it in 2014. In Dec. 2014 he did a colonoscopy on me & found a 1.2 cm tubulovillous adenoma polyp (benign fortunately). He was going to do another follow up colonoscopy on me in 3 years, b...

Re: Polyp worries

Actually yes, but I don't think it was polyp related.... As a matter of fact, I have been having a slight cramping/burning pain lately on left and right of side of my groin area... However, I have a long history of UTIs & had a case of kidney stones a few years ago. So I think it may be kidney s...
