Re: Path report

Hi daisymae, no he didn't say if it did or not. Just that he removed it all, come back in 3 years. Mine was 1.2 cm. I'm supposed to see him in jan., and plan to ask him. I am trying to find out if anything else was written in the path report. After I talk to him & get further path report info, I...

Re: Path report

Thanks o stoma Mia. From what I have read about these adenomas I am wondering the same questions. The doctor sent me a letter saying he completely removed it all, but this path report doesn't seem to give any details that he did. I am thinking of going to Cleveland clinic or Vanderbilt for a second ...

Re: Path report

Oh ok thank u so much! All of this is new to me. This is a wonderful forum. :) Do the benign tubulovillous adenomas grow back once excised? Sorry so many questions... Lol yes, my GI seems like a good doctor, but is very busy & has a rushed bedside manner. He didn't explain much!

Path report

Hi my GI doctor diagnosed me with a sigmoid colon polyp after colonoscopy this past Dec. 1, and removed it polypectomy. He sent me a letter saying that it was a tubulovillous adenoma, follow up with him in 3 years. The path report was not with the letter, so I sent for it from his office. Today what...

Re: 4cm polyp! Freaking out

Hi Daisymae, I was just diagnosed with a tubulovillous adenoma. It was 1.2 cm in the sigmoid colon. I just received a letter from my GI doctor saying he removed it all by polypectomy. He forgot to send the path report with the letter, so I have sent for it. I haven't gotten it yet. I was just wonder...

New adenoma

Hi, I'm new to the forum, & glad I found it. I've been hanging around here a few days reading others posts. I am 34/F from Virginia, USA. I've been married 14 1/2 years, & am a mom of two girls. I have not been diagnosed with colorectal cancer, but was recently told by my GI doctor that I ha...

Re: 4cm polyp! Freaking out

One other question I forgot to ask the other day was, does benign mean there's no dysplasia at all in a polyp?

Re: 4cm polyp! Freaking out

Oh ok, thank you so much for your detailed reply. It has put my mind at ease some. All of this is new to me & it's confusing. I'm an LPN, however we just touched briefly on colon cancer in nursing school, didn't really get in to the pathology aspect of it. This is a wonderful forum. I am so glad...

Re: 4cm polyp! Freaking out

Hi, thanks for your reply. I got a letter from my GI doctor today. His letter said that he removed a tubulovillous adenoma in my sigmoid colon. His letter said he removed it completely, & to follow up in 3 years. I know this is one of the more dangerous colon polyps, and is rare in my age group ...

Re: 4cm polyp! Freaking out

skoliv, did you get an answer on what type of polyp you have yet? I am new here and this is my first post. Been hanging out here a few days & finally joined the forum. I'm 34/F from east coast, USA. I was seeing some blood & mucous in my stool on and off the last few months, so I made an app...
