Re: Tax time!

As a tax preparer, anyone's refund is strictly based on how much you had withheld during the year. There are refundable credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit that you can qualify for based on children and income, but at it's core, your refund us based on your withholding. You have 8000.00 wit...

Maybe it's time to go to the ER. Can't believe that your surgeon is this unresponsive.

Re: Xanax and proper dose, what to expect.

I have serious sleep issues and anxiety. This all happened before my RC diagnosis. I take 2 Trazadone and a 12.5 mg Ambien CR every night. I also take a half of a .25 Xanax at bedtime and in the morning. I sleep 6-7 hours a night and have no sleepiness during the day. I can also take a .25 Xanax as ...

Re: Pathology results still delayed

Personally, I would find such a delay totally unacceptable. I had my surgery done on a Wednesday afternoon and my surgeon called me at 4:30 pm on Friday. I cannot even imagine waiting this long. Last April I had gallbladder/appendix surgery. As is normal, the body parts were sent for pathology. I go...

Re: Not sleeping well

After every surgery I have had, for what ever reason, and there have been quite a few, the best medicine I ever used was walking. It might be slow, bent over walking, but it was walking. I did push myself. Not to the point of injuring something, but I did a bit more each day. I hate pain meds. Walki...

Re: Diarrhea accident

I'm coming up on four years since my rectal surgery. I have my ups and downs, but my situation is diarrhea prominent. Mostly, I wake up at 5 with tremendous gas, go straight to the toilet then hit the kitchen for 4 Immodium. 99% of the time, I'm good until the next morning. Workout twice a week and ...

Re: Colon resection recovery

Darkness, Because of the nature of my surgery I thought I was home free. Two days later was at my friends funeral. Took me days to recover from that! I believe most of your questions about what to do, why your back or side hurts should be directed to your surgeon, as he/she knows your specific case....

Re: Can my father lose his VA disability?

If his Cancer was service related, such as Agent Orange, then he will continue to get disability for any Cancer related issues. My guess, because it has to be service related, is that he is getting it for the problem in his back. Contact your local DAV group or the VA itself for information on your ...

Re: 4cm polyp! Freaking out

I had a 4-5 cm polypoid mass very near my anus at colonoscopy. The GI gave me a probable treatment plan of chemo/radiation, surgery and a permanent colostomy . Biopsy was inconclusive. Went for a second opinion. That dr scheduled me for a surgical procedure to get better pathology. When he got in th...
