Re: HAD 1ST CHEMO AND NEVER WANT TO GO BACK

It sounds like your chemo regimen is similar to mine. I did not have to wear a pump at home, they did the infusion in the hospital and it took me approximately 3-4 hrs, once a week for 8 months. The only difference was they put the Leucovorin in a bag of IV fluid and infused it for 1 1/2 hrs then th...

Re: Stage 2 T3, 17 lymp. all clear, moderate differentials

Hi, I was diagnosed as the same stage at age 43. I chose to do the chemo and have never regretted the decision. It went by fairly quickly and wasn't too bad. It was certainly worth it if it keeps the cancer from returning. So far, I'm 8 years out from diagnosis and clear. You just have to weigh the ...

Re: Colon Cancer Survival Better When More Lymph Nodes Remov

I only had 9 lymph nodes examined. They were all negative. It has always bothered me that more weren't studied...especially since I opted out of Folfox. Time will tell...... Kimberly, I have often wondered the same thing. My surgeon only took 10 nodes, all of which were negative. But I read about o...

Re: Your opinions on onc visits

I am 8 yrs. out and my onc. stopped seeing me at 6 yrs. She gave me the option of continuing to see her once a year for labs ( CEA, Chemistry, CBC/diff, etc.) or just to go to my primary doctor. I chose to just see my internist. I still get a colonoscopy by a gastroenterologist (now every 2 yrs) and...

Re: East bay area, CA anyone?

Hi Sungold, I live over in San Francisco. I saw that Phoung wrote to you, I'm sure she will be a wealth of support, resources and information. She is wonderful. I was only Stage 2a, so I have not gone through the treatments that your husband is going through. I recently had my colonoscopy at UCSF Mt...

Re: Crazy Girl Stuff

I had the uterine ablation also after the hormones didn't stop my bleeding. It IS wonderful not having a period. It did feel so much better getting my hormones back on track too. My progesterone had completely fallen out to nothing. My estrogen followed a few years later. Whether or not the chemo wa...
