Re: At hospital with injured son

Sorry to hear that your son was injured....how very scary for you! It's the phone call we dread, isn't it, as parents? Pleased to hear that he's doing well, and it sounds like he will make a full recovery....thank goodness! I guess it could have been a lot worse. Will say a prayer for him...and your...

Hi Cindy I was sorry to read that Stephen's cancer has progressed, keep strong, I know it's hard but what else can you do? Sorry to hear also about his abdominal pain, and that it can't be explained. It's awful when unexplained symptoms occur as we so want to have answers. I've been having upper abd...

ACID REFLUX/CHEST PAIN SINCE CHEMO

Hi guys Just wondering if any of you have developed acid reflux from chemo or around the time of chemo. I often have chest/back pain and in the base of my throat. It started during chemo and is still there even though I finished chemo in Dec. Don't know if it's related or not or just a coincidence. ...

Re: Prilosec for ulcer pain?

Hi Cindy I had a lot of indigestion type stomach pain when I was on chemo. My onc told me that the steroids can cause this and prescribed rabeprazole which didn't really help. I finished chemo 12 weeks ago and I am still experiencing this kind of pain only much milder but it's there everyday (high u...

Re: I need your opinions

Hi Jaynee I would have been annoyed too with the wording refused! It just sounded so harsh and unnecessary. If they'd written refused and then given the reason why, such as refused contrast as per doctor's order, it would have been better. Pleased that you have got it sorted and that you feel better...

Re: Problems sleeping

Hi

I also had problems sleeping once diagnosed....all the anxiety! I tried diazepam, oxepam, xanax, natural remedies but nothing helped. My doctor then prescribed mirtazapine which I was on for 6 months and helped. I have now weened off it and take the occasional xanax when needed.

Re: Time to get rid of the hair!

Hi there Just wanted to post to let you know what happened to me with irinotecan. My hair started to fall out after a few treatments, first noticed it in the shower when washing my hair, had loads of strands covering my hands....I must admit that I did panic when I saw this. From that moment on my c...

Re: Post Chemo blues

Hi Carrieann Yes, I can sure relate! I, too, finished my chemo in December. Thought I would be sooo happy and triumphant....but, no I feel sad, anxious. I think that people think that I should be able to just get on with things but it's hard. Sometimes I just cry. I still feel very tired from the ch...

Re: "Late diarrhea" of Irinotecan- ANYONE HAD IT?

Hi Bev I remember my onc telling me that a common side affect of irinotecan is diarrhea. However, I was more the opposite (constipation). I was given a load of loperamide but didn't need it LOL. I first experienced diarrhea from the irinotecan about cycle 8 or 9 onwards. It was around day 9 and only...

However, I find that I am struggling quite a bit emotionally, I feel very anxious and scared about the future. I know that I should be thinking positive t...
