Re: Update on MGD007 Trial – New Sites Open!

And my DH had a good call with the trial people at one of the new sites, so I think he may also be jumping on this trial in the near future. I will definitely post his experiences here as well as our caringbridge when we get there. Thanks for your help, DK, in assisting us over the last couple month...

Re: Worried sick - is this out of the ordinary ?

My DH lost his appetite during chemo too. He found that marijuana helped him get some appetite back. He's kept his weight pretty steady through all of this. Maybe some sort of appetite stimulant could help your dad.

Re: Still loose stool, 9 months after surgery

My DH is 4 years out from surgery and still has exactly the same watery poop that he had right after surgery. It's just his new normal after losing nearly a foot of colon.

Re: Forum maintenance Monday, April 6th - completed

Has something happened with the email alerts for PMs? I am no longer getting emails when someone sends me a PM. I checked my settings (which I didn't change) and it still shows the checkmark next to the option to send an email to me when I get a PM, yet I received two of them yesterday and never got...

Re: Things we look forward to

I know it's not exactly what you're looking for, but right now I look forward to a whole week without any visits to the hospital. :) But seriously, we have friends visiting in about a month - I'm really looking forward to that. And, as long as things stabilize for Chris, we're hoping to take a trip ...

Re: FDA

I so agree. The "caution" for treatments when you're at my DH's stage of the disease drive me f***ing crazy considering the alternative is death! But, no one seems to give a rats ass what gets put in our food supply. Where's the f'ing logic in that? So infuriating.

SIRT questions

So, Chris is having his SIRT procedure right now. We've had a few hurdles to get here, but finally made it. I'm curious from those of you who've had it. How was the recovery for you? We'd very much like to take a trip to our favorite little island in the caribbean, but I am so hesitant to plan anyth...

Ceebo

I've been looking into this trial for my DH. Right now it is only at San Diego, Stanford, and Walter Reed (if you are a vet). I talked to the study director and he said they are working on opening one in the mid west...I think it was St Louis or somewhere there.

Good luck!

Re: FLOX in 2015?? Does it work??

Hi jaycey60. My DH had a full-on cardiac arrest (on my living room floor!) 3 days after his second treatment on 5FU. Of course we didn't know it when it happened, but it did turn out to be from the 5FU. Once he recovered from that, he went on Irinotecan and Erbitux which you can see by my signature ...

Re: Celeste - How are you and Pete?

Celeste - thanks for the info about that drug. I do recall it now, but my DH doesn't have the BRAF mutation.

I'm sorry about how things have progressed for you, I'm pretty sure we're right behind you. My strongest thoughts are with you.

Re: Celeste - How are you and Pete?

HI Celeste,

My DH was on that trial last year (Oct-Jan). Unfortunately he had progression on the trial, but he found it to be a much easier drug combo to tolerate. I hope your DH does better with it!

What is Zelboraf? I haven't heard of that one.

Vilca - I checked with a couple of my colleagues and asked who they thought were the best and most aggressive liver surgeons here at MSK. Here's the two names I got: Ron DeMatteo http://www.mskcc.org/cancer-care/doctor/ronald-dematteo Peter Allen http://www.mskcc.org/cancer-care/doctor/peter-allen I...
