Re: Surgery tomorrow! Need positive vibes

Give yourself time. Every day will get a little bit better. I sometimes think it's the stress of everything that can wear you down more than the surgery. Just try an relax and things will get back to normal.

Praying for your recovery and good pathology results!

Re: Surgery tomorrow! Need positive vibes

Glad everything went well and that your up and walking around! Yes, my husband passed a lot of clots and very dark brown/red dried crusty blood for the first day or two.

Keep us updated. The beast has been removed!

Re: Surgery tomorrow! Need positive vibes

Now is when the beast inside of you is attacked and destroyed. The army is moving in and will continue to fight till every, tiny single part of the beast is gone. That's a very good satisfying thing! You are young and healthy otherwise, the surgery will go fine. You will be in my thoughts and prayer...

Re: Zantac and Colon Cancer

Thanks for your reply Grouse Man, All very interesting. Like I said, I wish I would of gone to school for Bio chemistry or something like that as my son is instead of nursing.

Re: Zantac and Colon Cancer

Grouse Man, I always find your posts very interesting. I do agree with you that most of our human aliments are genetic. However, do you think that perhaps these drugs, foods, pesticides, preservatives, (and the list goes on and on) is causing these abnormal genetic mutations? Obviously our human bod...

Re: Muscle joint soreness - but not as a result of chemo?

Chemo can cause many deficiencies. They should do a whole slew of blood tests. Some that come to mind that they don't always do routinely are B12 level, D3, thyroid, . My sister who is a cancer survivor had an extremely low B12 level and very low D3 level. They treated her for this and it has helped...

Re: New member - scared & looking for tips

Our oncologist ordered a Pet scan just a few days before the surgery. He wanted to be sure that there was no cancer elsewhere other than his colon before surgery. If they can't do a MRI, then perhaps they should do a Pet scan before surgery. A Pet scan sometimes shows much more than just a Cat scan ...

Re: Input Regarding Continuing Oxi with Neuropathy Present

My husband did 10 hits of full folfox while the last 2 treatments were without the oxiplatium. He also started with cold sensitivity immediately and that persisted the whole way thru without out resolving till several months after treatments ended. He started with numbness on his finger tips which p...

Re: New Member, newly diagnosed

My husbands tumor was also in his cecum . He underwent major surgery where they removed his entire cecum, his entire acceding colon , his appendix (because the tumor grew outwards towards his appendix and perforated the orifice of it), and 34 lymph nodes along with a lot of surrounding tissue. He wa...

Re: Zantac and Colon Cancer

Amy, my mother has taken Zantac for years (20 or more.) She was DX with colon cancer two years ago. She is however 80 years old, but a very healthy 80 years old. Not sure because of her age it would of showed up anyway. I did see a commercial on TV yesterday for the first time from a law firm asking...

Re: New member - scared & looking for tips

Malidosa, How your feeling now is completely normal. I also understand the feeling that till you have surgery or start treating this beast, you fell like it's growing and taking over you completely and you just want it out! I felt the same way with my husband. I hated the waiting! Once he had the su...

Re: New member - scared & looking for tips

Hello and welcome to the board. First of all let me say that I'm sorry this is happening to you. Your DX sounds very similar to my husbands was 9 years ago. My husbands tumor was found via colonoscopy. His tumor was in his cecum and grew out towards his appendix which is why he was having pain. At f...

Re: Can chemo increase ALT & AST

Julie,

I always teased my husband when he was going thru folfox in saying that if this doesn't work, well just go home and have you drink some week killer. That might kill the tumor and hopefully not you!
