O.K. Well this is one I have thought about if I had a recurrence. My son was 9-10 when I was diagnosed and is now 13 getting ready to turn 14. At 9 he really was too young to fully understand what was going on. It is now he is showing signs of having issues with my cancer. He was acting out at schoo...

Bradyr, I am so sorry, but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not give up. Get a 2nd opinion, find other options. There is something out there, you just might have to look hard for it. Too many people give up at the first rejection. There is women alive today (and cancer free) because she would not take NO t...

Jewells, I am so sorry to hear about your diagnoses. You have found the right site for getting a lot of support. My children were 9 and 13 when I was diagnosed. The best advice I can offer there is wait until you have your facts, a plan of action, etc and then tell your son. That's what we did. I tr...

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. If he is still wanting to fight this, I would highly recommend getting a 2nd opinion at a major cancer treatment center something like MD Anderson. Also what other have mentioned regarding a new trail drug, or maybe be a candidate for one. I wish your Dad much s...

Shmurciakova, Thank you for your response. Yes I got the burn when I pee when I was on chemo many yrs ago. Not getting that burn this time. My ONC told me once, jock itch, athelic foot, and the itch around my stoma are all caused by the same fungus. I just can't remember is a yeast infection was inc...

Aventyr, CONGRATULATIONS on almosting finishing up chemo. That has got to be the best new. I was 46 when diagnosed, and had my tubes removed in a previous procedure, so that was not an issue for me. There was a girl who I knew, about who was diagnosed in her twenties, stage IV CC. Because she was st...

What are the symptoms for a yeast infection ?

Sometimes I feel uncomfortable there. Guess I'm getting a discharge. When I was on chemo once, thought I had a bladder infection when my ONC told me it was a yeast infection. I am not itchy there, but I am itchy around my stoma, have been for few mths, My rectal surgeon has put in a request for me t...

I will be praying you have a good report. I understand where you are coming from. Does it get better, after almost 4 yrs for me, I still sweat it out. When I left the ONC office in February, I had tears (of joy) on my face, by the time I got to my car, I was openly sobbing. Here's to a good report. ...

Per a Dr once, my mother had all the symptoms of colon cancer, he was 99% sure of it. She had been admitted to ER for bad tummy pains. A colonoscopy would reveal she had divertricolous, nothing else not even one polyp. I on the other hand, Dr did not expect to find anything with me. My rectal bleedi...

If her current Dr. will not refer her for a colonoscopy, please get a new Dr. Have her Dr check out this site, it just might open the Dr.'s eyes.

I agree with NWGirl, get it checked out ASAP. Rectal bleeding warrents a colonoscopy, if her Dr tries to dismiss this or just assumes it's hemmeroids, please find another Dr. Chances are she is O.K, but everyone assumed with me I had just hemmeroids, especially since they do run in my family, a tube...

Liz,

I just realized who you are, I read your bio a while back, I'm SO GLAD to hear you and your husband are back together. I live in Chandler, Dr. Gordon did my surgery, and that special GYN that I see is in Scottsdale, if you would like her name, let me know.

Best of luck to you,

Lee
