Re: Tribute to my dear friend Anne - aka BeansMama

Am so sad to hear of BeansMama passing. She was one of those rare people who could make postings on a forum convey the true warmth of her personality. I will miss her but take inspiration from such a strong person as I enter a new phase of my own fight.

Re: Back in the fight

Thanks everyone. Plan is to transfer me to a specialist neuro surgical department in a Dublin hospital to have growth removed. Docs feel it is most likely a met, but can not find any others so will approach this with curative intent which I think is very positive. They did say it's unusual to have b...

Re: Back in the fight

Thanks for the words of encouragement folks. Will be having MRI on head and full body CT Tomorrow. Doc has said will have a better plan tomorrow and he's meeting with oncology, neurosurgery and radio oncology. Feeling shellshocked tonight as I'm just over three years since diagnosis and was feeling ...

Back in the fight

Hello everybody, I had a seizure yesterday and ended up in A+E. Had a CT scan of my head this morning which showed a two centimetres growth on left side of brain. Doc said this could be spread from bowel, or a new primary which might not be malignant. Will be having more tests. All observations welc...

Re: SWF, so many uncertainties NOW!!!!

Hi Adele, Sorry you find yourself here, but it is a great resource for information, support and venting to people who get why you might need to vent. I am also from Ireland, had all my treatment in Drogheda, and am three years from diagnoses and still NED. Spent new years day in A+E and told I have ...

Re: How long after colon resection did you feel back to normal?

Three years since surgery, had 46cm removed and some omentum. Like some of the above posters, I can do most things and eat most things I want but it is definitely different than before surgery. Some days have urgency after eating and need to be careful when eating out and at work, energy level certa...

Re: O/T...Sort Of...Things Come In 4's - Appendiceal (Appendix) Cancer - Not Me

Hi Bitchslapped, When I was diagnosed with my primary cecal tumour I was told I also had an incidental finding of a six cm low grade mucinous neoplasm of my appendix which combined with the seven cm primary had blocked my bowel. As my surgical margins were clear the oncologist said that Folfox would...

Re: Chronic Anastomotic Sinus After Surgery

Hi Ballcoach, I had a somewhat similar situation to your self, in that I had several abscess deep in my abdomen. It went on for several months, and infection got that bad that I could not eat and my abdomen was huge I required hospital care, NG tube and TPN. Surgeon eventually came up with a plan wh...

Re: Anyone Here Being Treated in Ireland?

Hello Testing765, I live in the north east of Ireland, and was diagnosed and had all my treatment (surgery and chemo) in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda. From reading on the forum here about the other members experiences which seem to be mostly in the USA and Canada, I think the the treatme...
